Even then, isolated incidents between the government and citizens aren't considered civil war. We are at a precarious position, but still far from armed conflict between states or large numbers of citizens.

Because elections are incredibly hard to overturn by legal process precisely because of the separation of powers giving the states authority over elections, and because of the difficulty in establishing proof of fraud after secret ballots have been cast and counted.

An escalation as you describe changes things of course. Why I stressed my thoughts are as things sit today. We are still peaceful and I hope it remains so.

Just for clarification. Violence is almost guaranteed at this point. Only question is how small and isolated it will be. If something swells up to levels I am speaking of, then there will be a response from uniformed personnel. At that point, the country is lost. And I will do what must be done, just like everyone else. I just will never be the first to create such a situation.

Again, I was mainly referring to the "kill em all and let god sort em out" super minority here.
