No, absolutely not. I have never understood this logic.

Voting was stupidly easy even before this year. I'm 45 years old and I have never taken more than 20 minutes to cast a ballot in any election.

If someone is unwilling to spend 20 minutes voting in person, do you really trust them to be an informed voter? I don't, and I damn sure don't want uninformed people voting.

Voting is a civic duty. It should require some effort.
I spent several hours reading about each measure on my ballot and my local candidates who were running.. in the comfort of my own home. Why can I not simply fill out my scantron at home as well, then drop it off at the police station/town hall, etc?

You home might be comfortable. Another person's home might be one with political pressure/intimidation being used by a loved one that can MAKE SURE you vote for the ~right~ person.

Its a trash system for mental midgets.
If your loved one might sway your vote and you feel uncomfortable about that, then don't sign up for mail in, and go in person

It's not rocket science. you do what you want, but IMO, for me, mail in is far superior.

How about your loved one signing up for you and forcing you to vote? You gonna keep that ballot and invalidate it? What if they threaten you? What if they bribe you? Whole bunch of crimes you can't trace (by design), because a "legal" ballot shows up.

You have chosen to ignore the fact VBM complete erases protections we have set up at polling stations. You don't understand political science much less rocket science.

Americans are going to have to decide which direction this country is going to go. Do we actually stand up and fight this corruption and cheating? Or just put our heads down.

It may work in your county. There are states where it works that have practiced at it for years.

Where it doesn't work is a hasty implementation with few controls and no testing or custodial standards and states allowing judges to change all sorts of long established counting rules and cutoff times. That is what happened this year and it has destroyed the faith in this election.

If you mail in your vote then you should be just as comfortable mailing cash to pay your bills.
The greatest argument ever made against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter.

No mail in votes unless you are military.

Vacationing, traveling, expat, working overseas.... too bad.

All of the fraud and fishy business every election, the mail in votes are at the center.

I absolutely agree with you here. I went in person to vote. Took me maybe 10 minutes. But there should be a way to provide more access while still being able to regulate properly

Voting isn't a privilege or civic duty, it's a right. There should be no burden to exercise that right beyond identity verification to protect the voting rights of others by ensuring a fair and secure electoral process. Imagine the uproar if someone said owning a gun should require some effort.
It does. You have to obtain the gun somehow.

Every citizen should have an opportunity to vote but it cannot be by mail. It has to be controlled. When you throw your ballot in the mailbox it's out of your hands. Multiple people handle it and there no telling what can happen to it.
You don't drop the filled ballot out in your mailbox.

You drop it off at one of a few very specific lock boxes in your area, either police station or town hall, etc. that is monitored.

A little video on the process.

1) Ballots with no name and no address are being cast for Biden.
2) Ballots with with registration dates before birth dates are being cast for Biden.

That is just the sloppy cheating that was caught and still couldn't be disqualified.

Mail in voting should not be allowed. There is no way i will ever trust that vote. It is too easy to cheat in ways that cannot be found (see san antonio lady from veritas). When combined with legal vote harvesting, it really creates potential problems.

Absentee, over 65, disabled...sure.

But, you should show up to vote. 3 weeks of 7am to 7pm early voting plus election day is enough. No curbside voting. Get off your ass and vote.

Why is this so difficult?
I've mailed in my vote for almost 10 years..

I question why it's not standard.. my county seems to have it figured out pretty well.

I know at least one person in LA and one in NYC that use their old home address to register and vote by mail every election to try to turn Texas Blue.

Maybe we should pitch in an buy a house in PA for Texags voters.

To answer a previous posters question, not only should you not be allowed to vote in any way you want, but most people shouldn't be able to vote in general. Universal suffrage is and always has been a meme to expand to voting base so political parties can get elected. The tories did it under Disraeli in the UK, Reps and Dems have done the same here. It's an awesome strategy for an election until you realize the all the other party has to do is promise more gibs.

Sorry to ask but tied up in meetings all day and heading to business dinner. Trump has lost I take it?
"What country before ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." Thomas Jefferson

I'm not in PA, are you dense?

As I said, CO has done this for like 8 years, and from what I read, it's damn good system.

"With years of experience under its belt and a willingness to tweak its voting system to be responsive to voter needs, Colorado is considered the "gold standard" for election systems, said Secretary of State Jena Griswold."
I'm not saying every state that does mail in has it right.. and it's not the voter's responsibility to make it right, it's the government's.

This is not a viable long term solution. This country is trending towards collapse and the ones doing it are the most disproportionately removed from the consequences of such an outcome. You have to tie voting rights back to the most able and invested in some capacity. If we don't, our softness as a society will lead to war and out of it arise Chinese invasio or a marxist government.

Voting can't be "feel" based any longer. This much is becoming very apparent. Instead we have to view voting as essentially a form of war. We need to start rethinking conservative ideology around what's actually in the balance.
