Mail in voting should not be allowed. There is no way i will ever trust that vote. It is too easy to cheat in ways that cannot be found (see san antonio lady from veritas). When combined with legal vote harvesting, it really creates potential problems.

Absentee, over 65, disabled...sure.

But, you should show up to vote. 3 weeks of 7am to 7pm early voting plus election day is enough. No curbside voting. Get off your ass and vote.

Why is this so difficult?
I've mailed in my vote for almost 10 years..

I question why it's not standard.. my county seems to have it figured out pretty well.

Actually its a Republic, and we want the voter process to be open, transparent, and secure. Troll another thread please.

No, absolutely not. I have never understood this logic.

Voting was stupidly easy even before this year. I'm 45 years old and I have never taken more than 20 minutes to cast a ballot in any election.

If someone is unwilling to spend 20 minutes voting in person, do you really trust them to be an informed voter? I don't, and I damn sure don't want uninformed people voting.

Voting is a civic duty. It should require some effort.
I absolutely agree with you here. I went in person to vote. Took me maybe 10 minutes. But there should be a way to provide more access while still being able to regulate properly

Not really, unless it's special circumstances like being in the military or being disabled. Voting should be a conscious effort.

I spent several hours reading about each measure on my ballot and my local candidates who were running.. in the comfort of my own home. Why can I not simply fill out my scantron at home as well, then drop it off at the police station/town hall, etc?

Fox News Trump campaign rep saying that they've been winning the remaining votes by 62%, and only need to win 56%, and then said Fox will need to rescind their call then Brett and Martha jump all over him to shut him up. He said they will cause Biden to falsely claim victory.

Because handing your vote to a federal agency during an election run by a state is one structural weakness.

Its overall error rate is going to be higher due to losses/damage

Filling out a ballot at home does not have the same protections as a polling station (intimidation, secret ballot, campaign halos)

Throw around all the "fraud" statistics you want, its an inferior system for chumps.

Your home might be "comfortable". Another person's home might be one with political pressure/intimidation being used by a loved one that can MAKE SURE you vote for the ~right~ person. Heaven forbid a partisan canvasser shows up "coincidentally" with you ballot.

Its a trash system for mental midgets.

I don't even remember now, it's been a while, but I believe at some point in time, I signed up for mail in voting. So now I get a ballot about a month before hand, as well as a pretty detailed book that discusses all the ballot measures stating what a yes vote is, what a no vote is, and repercussions of each outcome, as well as pros and cons of each vote.

Per your tax return, one vote per household is how elections should be decided. That or draft eligible Americans should be the one to cast votes (women are free to signup).

The problem is that you have to keep it very limited in scope, because the more avenues there are to vote the more avenues there are for Democrats to cheat.

If your loved one might sway your vote and you feel uncomfortable about that, then don't sign up for mail in, and go in person

It's not rocket science. you do what you want, but IMO, for me, mail in is far superior.

Except it isn't a democracy - it's a republic (or was). Democracy always (ALWAYS) leads to mob rule. The voting age should be raised (not lowered). You should have to pass a civics exam to vote. It's really sad that there are people that truly want mob rule.

In a few states this year in the US, you could do this 100000 times...do you not see the issue that is occurring right now?

I think we are jaded at this point and believe the only reason NV changed their position is so they could announce for Biden.
I think Nevada is updating results today, but I'd be surprised if they called it. Their mail-in votes can be counted through 11/10 if post-marked by 11/3. They mailed ballots to every voter in the state, and there's no way they can know how many of those will come back through 11/10.

https://news.ballotpedia.org/2020/08/12/nevada-to-mail-ballots-to-all-voters-ahead-of-nov-3-general-election/

Time for the Trump team to "find" some ballots.

Too much handling between me and where it's going, too many opportunities for it to disappear or be changed. There's no guarantee that I would be the person who filled it out and sends it in, and if contested that it wouldn't be thrown out because my signature is too different from what they have. Going in person eliminates that.

I still get mail for the people who lived here 10 years ago, and the mom of the previous owner who moved out in the 1990s, that's not exactly reassuring.

Research on your couch, fill out your scantron at home, then present your ID before YOU feed it into the machine. No extra effort and way more secure!

Every citizen should have an opportunity to vote but it cannot be by mail. It has to be controlled. When you throw your ballot in the mailbox it's out of your hands. Multiple people handle it and there no telling what can happen to it.

Voting isn't a privilege or civic duty, it's a right. There should be no burden to exercise that right beyond identity verification to protect the voting rights of others by ensuring a fair and secure electoral process. Imagine the uproar if someone said owning a gun should require some effort.
