Good point. Polls are now worthless. The ballgame is actually happening and we have real time data from the swing state of Florida that helps to paint a picture of what is actually going on.

It's way early but the picture is this in Florida: Republicans are turning out at 50% or more of the election day electorate. The predictions of an election day red wave appear to be materializing. The question now is one of total volume. If the rates continue then the Republicans will exceed 2016 margins on votes cast over the Democrats even taking into account the Democrat vote lead coming into today.

Is Florida a harbinger of other states? Possibly. It has been the focal point of campaigns for 30 years for a reason. Same for OH and now NC. They have demographics that are similar to other battleground states. Generally if FL, OH and NC are won by one party then other battleground states are likely to fall in line.

If you enjoyed the NYT meter in 2016, Fox will be doing something very similar this year. It starts when the first polls close.

Chris Stirewalt is the Fox politics editor. Fox has been shifting their rhetoric about who is going to win heavily towards Biden, still talking about Georgia and other "southern battlegrounds" just last night.

Chris said he's really excited about their new "death star"... predictor of sorts they will fire up today. Perino let it slip a bit, to take the mystery out of it, she referred to it as "exit polls".

So basically get ready for even Fox to use their "exit polls" to judge the winner today...

True. But.. NYT had a liberal bias in 2016 and that was part of what made it so fun to watch their own tools turn against them

Simply because of turnout. No one on either side expected the amount of turnout that they are seeing.

I agree, they would likely stay red.

Notice where Biden and Harris are going: Philly and Detroit. They aren't seeing the early numbers there high enough to offset Trump voters in the rest of those states. This is a last ditch effort to try to get more to the polls and likely too little too late. That and they are probably going to check in on the cheating machines.

Logic tells me that the R votes are for Trump if voting in person on election day. (i.e. the hypothetical R's flipping based on Trump Covid management should have voted by mail)

Similarly, the O votes wouldn't skew Dem based on Covid if voting in person on election day.

seems safe to say the numbers won't surprise here, and if this keeps pace Trump will win Florida.
