Having worked with Apollo veterans early in my career, I have a hard time comprehending how deniers exist. They're fascinating to me.
My dad trained the astronauts in geology, helped come up with the requirements for the lunar receiving laboratory, and was in the room when they unboxed the samples from the moon for the first time. He just laughed at the deniers. Some of the pictures they used to use as example of the "fraud" were from a sample moon terrain that he helped build in a hangar at Ellington to test equipment and to let the astronauts practice in their suits.
In amongst the boxes of old stuff I have from him, I think I have a cassette tape that to his knowledge was the only audio recording of that moment when they were unboxing the first samples from the moon and loading them into the vacuum boxes at the LRL. He said he had a little cassette player/recorder in his office and he took it in there, set it on the table and hit record before they started opening the samples. He also avoided getting quarantined in the LRL over a holiday weekend by a matter of a minute or two after somebody tore a glove working in a vacuum box and didn't follow protocol to tie it off properly.
