I'm not familiar with what you are talking about. Can you expound?Ag_of_08 said:
These are the people who wrote a remote ID drone law, and will prosecute people for it, but never put an actual public system in place that does any of what's required, and can't explain how you can get in full compliance.

Awesome that Elon shared this list with us. A lot of these items are fairly vague but overall there is a lot of information here. IMO SpaceX would likely make all of these changes whether required or not. The design and processes will continue to become more advanced… https://t.co/SvZbPQbZP8

How I understand it, drones will be required to transmit location via remote ID (like a plane) but no real framework to do it or likelihood to retrofit existing hardware to become compliant with the law.

Nice.
This is a huge deal not just because of the sheer number of launches, or that Telesat is going with a competitor in LEO broadband; but also what is says about the company's confidence in Blue Origin and Relativity Space.https://t.co/BzCoqKolsM

Starlink absolutely targets commercial as well.
I think the speculation has been that this is really just about inevitable (the separation). The challenge is the timing as they probably get a much bigger IPO/launch $$$$ when it does once/if they have a regular/exciting cash flow, and the constellation is…at least more complete than it already is.bmks270 said:
If SpaceX refused to launch for competing constellation networks they'd be in monopoly territory. There is an argument to be made that Starlink should be separated from the launch business.

Blue Origin is working toward flying its New Shepard spacecraft early next month for the first time since an in-flight failure a year ago.https://t.co/ZLXTlECEOU

LOLOL.
You can get a module for as cheap as $70 now. It's standalone so you don't need to connect it to power on the UAS.V8Aggie said:AgResearch said:aTmAg said:I'm not familiar with what you are talking about. Can you expound?Ag_of_08 said:

Not understanding the confusion. Remote ID is extremely easy to comply with. The biggest gripe (understandably) is from folks whose drone didn't come already equipped. The module isn't cheap.
But I'll leave it at that as I don't want to derail
This thread.
