At all times SpaceX's Starship prototypes are kept steady by bolting to the ground, or attaching to crawler or overhead cranes. This prevents them from tipping over under poor weather and strong winds.

There is only one bolting area for Ships at the LC. It's located just by the Orbital Launch Mount as a part of the cryo station. And well, that's a little bit too close Booster 7.

I was starting to think about the same thing. It's the first launch though, so I would expect a few scrubs.OnlyForNow said:
If y'all had a free 1 week vacation and South Padre was near the top of the list for various reasons, what would be a good time/place to stay and try to see a launch (thinking summer so it's easier for the kids and school).
Correct, Boca Chica is dev and testing for Starship only, no Falcon 9 launches are happening from there.OnlyForNow said:
So is Boca Chica not being used to launch anything else at this time, until this thing gets off the ground?
Last I saw, SpaceX was predicting late Feb to early Mar for a launch? Someone correct me if I am wrong.OnlyForNow said:

There are theories floating around that the GOV (via FAA) doesn't want to let SpaceX go too commercial from Boca Chica. Since they are operating out of the Cape (Goberment owned), they can maintain more control on the activity.OnlyForNow said:

"Maybe next week we'll have a 33-engine static fire" of the Super Heavy booster, SpaceX's Bill Gerstenmaier says at AIAA SciTech this morning.

Are they going to wheel it away? Or just unstack it?

The best thing to do is to stay where ever you want and make your way to the County Park/Jetties for day of the launch. Personally, we spend the day fishing there and just park our car right on the water looking across the channel to the launch facility.
