So we had a discussion today and I almost think Musk could out-populate space if Russia and/or China tried to knock down Starlink sats. They might have anti-sat tech but SpaceX put 90 Starlink sats in orbit this week. Sure there's several critical paths but you are launching at least one anti-sat missile per Starlink. Add in the reusable first stage and fairings, I think Musk might be able to put more Starlinks in space than they could physically shoot down.

downlink jamming would be much more effective.

I wonder how many emails they got about an extended warranty for their T-80s
Seven and three are ten, not only now, but forever. There has never been a time when seven and three were not ten, nor will there ever be a time when they are not ten. Therefore, I have said that the truth of number is incorruptible and common to all who think. — St. Augustine

The primary issue for dreamchaser right now is that it is…married up to fictitious Blue Origen engines for Centaur Vulcan. If NASA etc. decide to forge an alliance with SpaceX, great, but that's not what they've been working on so far. I know they are competitors to an extent but if Sierra/DC would just agree to figure it out/engineer throwing it on a F9 things would be a lot more practical/this-year-ish.

At a minimum just explore it with some small amount of the funding. You can keep the project going and just pathfind Falcon/Starship as a redundancy. When and if you get Blue Origin going, by all means stack on them.

I'm hoping they're designing the manned style launch fairing to fit on falcon and ULAs upper stages. If that will work, that may be the route to pursue.

4 billion per launch? Stupid, fold it up now. Fire management. Send the engineers to the private sector.

We have an ISS crew returning soonish. I'm curious to see if the air travel bans will impact NASA's ability to fly our crew back or if NASA personnel will be permitted to fly on Russian helicopters.

Launch a crew dragon. Either one pilot as backup or do it autonomously. Not like they havent done that before. Bring them home. Tell the Russians to pound sand and they can jump out a parachute home if they want.

That would be a bit of a challenge from what I understand, the couches and suits are tailored to specific astronaut aren't they?

I really don't know what the realities of getting one back would be, ib3 may have more input there lol

Being partners with the Russians on ISS is just about analogous to having the sips as business partners again.

Their turnaround times are always impressive to me. This booster was last launched on January 19th of this year...

And they have other boosters that were launched with less turnaround time.

Get the Space Launch Now app. Tells you when any launch is happening and gives you links to watch.

The Soyuz seat liners are crew specific. I think the anthropometry guys have 3D laser scans of all the astronauts so they would be able to quickly tell if SpaceX has a dragon suit in inventory that would work or could probably make one sight unseen for a contingency return.

It would be interesting to estimate how many launches an F9 needs to achieve to hit the cost of 1 SLS launch. Can 1 recycled F9 be used to generate $4 billion in revenue?

My cowboy/guesstimate math says they charge $62 million (of course a lot of launches are Starlink/internal) so that would be around 67 launches, and SpaceX has claimed they can get up to 100 from a booster, but I always question my math.

They should paint a broomstick on the next Falcon 9 to launch.
