Probably to allay concerns from clients who have payloads ready for Starship and investors who would like clarity on the rumors of severe issues with Raptor 2 engines more than anything else. I have friends there as media, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

I don't think we'll see a full test of the booster engines before the FAA gives them the environmental thumbs up. That would probably only give some people something to complain to the FAA about.

Something happened at stage separation. Stage 2 is spiraling out of control.

They had a successful launch in November. They reached orbit faster than SpaceX.

Something happened about 5 seconds before stage separation. Not sure if it is supposed to happen or not, but the camera moves a few feet a few seconds before separation.
Right at MECO something happens. From the onboard camera something moved and looked bent. Then stage separation starts but they don't come apart. Then the second stage lit, blew the first stage off, and the second tumbled.
Stock is nose diving faster than the second stage!
Yep, looked like the separation mechanism didn't engage properly (which I guess is why SpaceX is going with the spin technique for Starship) and the second stage ignition basically caused an explosion of the first stage instead of a normal ignition.YellowPot_97 said:
