Well, its not like a bunch of progressives would have donated to a 'We Build The Wall' crowdfunding scheme.

Reason # Eleventy Billion why the only organizations you should donate to are the ones that are local to you and you get to see where the money goes and who it helps.
The greatest argument ever made against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter.

Yeah Obama only extorted companies to pay off leftist non-profits.

Bannon: "Dear Donor, we will use the money you donate to build the wall."

SDNY Investigator: "Build the wall?? We know walls don't work! That's fraud!! "

In all seriousness, if laws were broken, then let justice be served. But also, apply the law equally to all.

That's the main difference between Dems and Rs. If this, and any criminal statute is broken, we want the people/persons arrested, indicted, and convicted.

The Left NEVER sees it that way. It's just a means to an end for their politics. We often use whataboutism, but at least we DO read about the problem, and want it fixed. The Left NEVER sees a problem, and then doubles down. See the number of black Americans murdered since the BLM's riots started, or the suicides of Americans who were told to not leave their homes due to the virus.

Whomever dies along the way to the glorious goal is okee dokee.

There is two tiered justice system, if you have a D next to your name, no problem.

The ****ing msm has fostered this.

The SDNY are a bunch of hacks, wish Barr would clean that house.

It's the old wachman quote "I could indict a ham sandwich."

He'll be out on bail this afternoon, but it decreases his ability to interact/impact the campaign/election. The timing on this is...suspect.

As a reminder, the Clintons were able to take in $177 Million one year while only donating $5 Million.

Isn't this from the DoJ, under Barr?

I think any time is a good time to get rid of fraudsters. R or D.

Yes it is, of course. You might note that I've been dubious on the big thread on Mueller's coup attempt for over a year that Barr would do anything/produce any results this term. Mueller/Rosenstein/SDNY/Durham/Barr/Weinstein did nothing to get justice against the coup plotters.

nope...nothing political going on here in New York.

Justice is being served!
This is Barr and the DOJ, not the communist AG in New York.
Actually, it is:

U.S. Southern District of New York

That is the SAME District that is trying to get to Trump based on his real estate findings. It is NOT Barr and the DOJ, but radical Democrat partisans who are using their position to get to Trump... again...

My guess is this is the case that Berman was allegedly concerned would go away once he left. Strauss signed the indictment, who was his successor he wanted to remain on.

Bank fraud, overinflating the value of his real estate holdings was the theory, I believe. Like Deutsche Bank would just take someone's word on a billion dollar loan. Just another rabbit hole, in my view.

The ones going after Trump over his real estate financing is the Manhattan DA and New York State AG.

This all goes back to Berman (and Bhahrara), and now they have Strauss running SDNY. It's a very rogue office that considers itself beyond any outside chain of command.

Yes, the SDNY is/has been for some time trying to 'get' Trump for real estate loans/taxes.

At one point in the whole Mueller fiasco (related to the russian company's indictments?) McCarthy admitted he was shocked at the malfeasance/political actions in SDNY (he once worked there). I don't have time to find the article now but I think he is spot on in both pieces as I recall it.

Amazing how the left gets him or Dinesh on these petty fundraising crimes, while the Biden & Kerry sons are doing under table gov deals with China and Ukraine in plain sight.
Makes you wonder whether your underlying assumptions might not be accurate, doesn't it? After all, Trump is the head of the federal government, and he has a guy at the top of the justice department that has demonstrated a complete willingness to insert himself directly into the cases of these local US attorney's offices. "The left gets him or Dinesh" makes no sense in that context, does it?

You either have to (A) admit that Trump and his associates commit crimes at an alarming rate, or (B) admit that Trump is the most feckless head of the US justice system in modern history because he can't even keep his subordinates from charging his cronies with crimes. So which is it?

How about just wake up and realize that the Trump Crime Organization has made you a willing accomplice.

(C) I think the whole system is headed at the top by crooks. But there is an "in" group, the establishment, that protects itsself. It's why the Clinton foundation ran for years, while bannons little scheme gets shut down.

Funny you think Trump is the paradigm while ignoring the Biden family cronies willing to take millions in $$ from Ukraine and China.

Another optics problem for Trump, which I think is by design.

Thousands of fraudulent set ups like this within the nonprofit world.

This one involves:
1) A Former Trump Advisor
2) Trumps primary issue(wall building).

Bannon is scum. As are Manofort and Stone. I said this in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and now 2020. But these bottom feeders are only three of thousands of these guys. You can find another handful of them in the Lincoln Project.

I'm beginning to question my position on freedom to donate money into politics. Until the federal government loses at least half of its power and becomes a much smaller % of our GDP, our own tax dollars, corporate, and philanthropic dollars will continue to draw in the scum of the earth into the entire political class, including government contractors.

We the People have no chance holding these leeches accountable. Every branch of government is compromised, including the judiciary. Both major political parties are compromised.

They take our money through taxation to fund massive waste, fraud, and abuse. And tens of thousands of nonprofit special interest groups(including political parties) take our philanthropic dollars to change virtually nothing except to make the political class wealthier, more powerful, and less accountable.

Sorry, this isn't "C", this is "B". Trump is the establishment now. He can appoint any US Attorney he wants over there, and he can fire/hire multiple DOJ heads. His problem is that he just can't seem to fine one that will drop legitimate cases of fraud and extortion. Feckless.
Quote:

We're in agreement here. If Biden and his cronies are committing similar crimes, I expect the Trump justice department to prosecute them. And I think that they will, because generally the US Attorneys through the years have done a decent job of staying apolitical.

Trump is not the establishment. Did you miss his impeachment? Do you see how the Clintons, Bushes, Bidens, and Obama still all hate his guts.

Maybe he is playing the game. But the evidence him/family are financially benefiting is weak. Especially when he has actually lost wealth. He doesn't have a Trump Foundation. His kids aren't getting millions of dollars to sit on boards.

He's president now. He's more powerful than all of them. And yet he's a feckless leader. The fact that they hate him might be because, having served in the Oval Office, all of them realize how damaging he is to our democracy.
Quote:

This is not even worth responding to. There is ample evidence. You just don't want to see it.
Quote:

It's binary. He is the president. He can fire every single US Attorney (and did), and put in whomever he wants. He can appoint anyone he wants as head of DOJ. Those are facts. So either he's a crook, or he's a feckless leader. There is no C. The "deep state" conspiracy theory makes no sense when you drill down on that and recognize that Trump could fire everybody (again) and put in whomever he wants.

Well, look at that list of families who hate Trump. Who has held the power in DC since the ****ING 80s. Every single DOJ lawyer, FBI agent were promoted by one of those families, and turned a blind eye. Heck even bill Barr is a bush friend, you think he is gonna stir up *****
