Rhetoric now on social media is that Barr refuses to answer simple yes or no questions and disrupted the proceedings, destroying justice.

So, there's your media blast for the next few days on repeat.

That's all this was. The media already had the stories written and Nadler created the strategy to not let Barr answer to "validate" the media's stories. Just disgusting liars both Dems and media.

And Nadler, the chairman, falling asleep? The hearing in a microcosm. So important and waited so long yet falls asleep during this "important" hearing. Just completely disrespectful and no regard for Barrs time. I would have made a statement about him falling asleep and then walked out so he could take a nap.

Throughout the hours of questioning, I don't remember many Dems asking "simple yes or no questions."

Yeah, I don't either. But I don't think that matters.
I didn't get to watch the entire inquisition but I seem to remember a yes or no question that was similar to the old joke,"so when did you stop beating your wife?" It was a gotcha question only intended for a MSM sound bite.

Many Democrats are despicable vile loathsome pond scum.

ETA: when AJ Barr tried to respond he was cut off.

That explains why Nadler didn't want Barr to take a potty break. It interrupted his nap.

I like to think that I have a rep for posting here as a conservative but still objective when it comes to facts, not narratives. I take some heat for just giving my honest opinions, especially on LEO actions and charges.

George Floyd became the catalyst, in the true chemical sense of the word, to ignite long smoldering fires. But I still don't know why. Cops have been arrested facing trial (putting aside the overcharges for the moment) and justice is being served.

Rayshard Brooks had committed five separate felonies before he was shot and those were not only in the presence of but also inflicted upon the police officers involved. Again vast overcharging for no reason other than political pandering.

Then we come to the famous St. Louis couple. Missouri law is one of the most expansive Castle Doctrine states I have seen. Well within their rights to do what they did.

Funny you mention that. I originally typed, "Democrats are despicable vile loathsome pond scum."

But I allowed my feelings intercede and felt there must be some old school Democrats that aren't consumed with hatred. So on further reflection added the preceding "Many" adjective.

Sunrise Movement. AOC, various Marxist types just waiting for some spark to deliberately blow everything up. General sedition from the reporter class that goes back to the deliberate mis-reporting of Ferguson and Trayvon incidents, even down to editing recordings to mislead.

As a trucker on the road I had to sleep during much of this hearing, but I saw enough to be thoroughly disgusted. There is nothing, not one thing, about the Democrat party of any redeeming quality. They are all horrible, and it is so laughably, blatantly obvious - at least it should be to anyone with a brain.

I mean, Nadler calling someone rude and then not allowing Barr a 5-minute break, all in the same breath... Just... Unbelievable...

And their treatment of Barr was despicable. Republicans don't act like this.

So my question is...

Have there been any liberal posters on this thread proud of their representatives? Impressed at the incredible wisdom and decorum of the left on display for all to see? Happy with what they see?

I'm genuinely curious to hear because these people are not fit to represent a dung hill.

This is a good example of how to effectively question a hostile witness. It's unfortunate so many members of Congress in both parties lack this skill.

Are you ******ed? As a true Independent that didn't vote for Trump (or a Republican ever) the Democrats are an embarrassment. You'll see a true voter turnout in favor of Trump this go around.
This is me 100%. Not to belabor the point, but I also did not vote for Trump in 2016 (nor Hillary), and was going to abstain from voting this time around as well up until about the last 6 months or so. This display by the Dems has been an absolute and total embarrassment to any rational thinking person. It is a disgrace to our nation and our institutions. I will hold my nose a bit, but will without question be pulling the lever for Trump this go-round. The Dems have lost all touch with the true concepts of classical liberalism and have embraced the infantile emotional temper tantrum methods of the unhinged leftists. It is pathetic, and I can only hope that at some point we can stop regressing as a republic.
Thank you for your honesty. I know that if you lean left, no arguments on this board will likely change your mind and make you "conservative". But to hear that some Democrats are seeing the unravelling of our institutions due to visceral opposition to this administration and are uncomfortable with what they see gives me some hope for our future.

As I have told my 20-something left-leaning child: This election is not about Trump vs. Biden. It is about the fundamental values and institutions this country was built upon, which are now under assault on many fronts. We are witnessing Animal Farm and 1984 first hand.

Correct. Understand this, "leaning left" as in lower-case left of the centerline, is OKAY. It is not "Left" as in Maoist-Marxist or statist by default. We actually need `lean left' elements in various things, not least the environment, for balance.

But Maoism and cancel culture is the ENEMY of the Cold War and not `leaning left' or `liberal' at all. It is also every bit as incompatible and opposed to the American Ideal as radical Islamist think.

This year the Democratic Party has sided with anti-national agendas and forces. President Trump's various flaws of abrasiveness count for nothing next to the destructive platform the Democrats seek to impose. Its never been easier to vote in a year. You could turn off the TV till Nov 3 and there would be no need to even consider voting for the Democrats unless you are Leftist or so rich no national crash would impact you.

They truly are. The Dems in the House on that committee behaved atrociously not letting him provide answers, calling him a racist, calling him a murderer, berating him from all sides all the way down to Nadler disrespectfully falling asleep and nearly not letting Barr have a bio break. And this raging ***** Pelosi has the temerity to say he was despicable, a "blob", and his appearance beneath the dignity of an AG? Wouldn't expect any less from her after her tear the speech moment at the SOTU.

Another poster had it correct, I believe. I mentioned how the members of the committee were the worst of they worst. They explained that it's a prestigious committee, assigned to the most senior members of Congress. Who are most senior? The Dictators for life, elected and then re-elected their entire life, from the deepest blue districts. These include minority districts, where mental midgets like Shelia Jackson Lee and Hank Johnson have been there for decades.

And like John Lewis, they will be there until someone scrapes their festering corpse out of the chair.

For those that didn't see the hearing, this meme sums it up almost perfectly.

The only problem is that Nadler didn't let Barr have lunch, much less provide lunch.

Of course, you might say that figuratively Barr had Democrats for lunch.

I lean left on many social issues, but have always been a moderate to heavy fiscal conservative. However, as a matter of principle I consider myself a reasoned individual, and do not wholly subscribe to any one platform (not that most do). If there's one thing that I consider to be true above all else, it's that our nation was founded on the most forward-thinking and freedom-preserving concepts. Now, we have not always lived up to those ideals, as many have pointed out, but that does not change the fact that at its core it creates the freest populace on planet earth. And that above all else, should be preserved for as long as humanly possible.

I lament the current state of affairs, and given the behavior of the Democrats, have but one choice that gives me any modicum of hope that freedom of thought, of speech, and our very fundamental institution of government can be saved. I voted for Obama the 1st time, voted Libertarian the other 2 times, and haven't voted for an R President since W. At this current juncture, I agree with you that it is a critical tipping point, and that many of our freedoms are at stake. This is not about tweets or anything (arguably) banal, this is about the threat of hysterical, emotional, reactionary changes that could be destroy the most crucial cornerstones of our government.

This is absolutely correct conclusion.

The bold makes you a good example of the kind that is overlooked today. A genuine left of center, lower-case `liberal'. Not the overly abstract kind, since you said lean left on social issues. But still, 100% American Ideal in support.

Your kind is needed to vote against the Left more than ever. Having to go all hard right is also risky.

Thanks for a thoughtful post.

I'm a reluctant Trump supporter, would have rather had Cruz.

I don't know if Cruz could have been enough of an anal orifice to push through the things that Trump has.

By the same token, I'm not sure that Cruz would be getting the insane push back that Trump gets from the left.

If we could somehow inject Trump with Cruz DNA, and get the kind of thoughtful leadership from him in the next three months that you would get from Cruz, it would be an electoral landslide for Trump.

pelosi has a lot of gall to be talking about dignity.
NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.
