War with China shouldn't be the fear. Based of the course charted by our wonderful leftist leaders, we are more likely to become ideological allies of China in the next 50 years than fight them

We also have not considered that they are terrible drivers and will likely either get in accidents with their military vehicles, or not be able to find their way around upon arriving to the United States.

DING! DING! DING!

Bingo. China has only to be enable about two, maybe three Obama-AOC toned administrations here, and we are done as a force. Europe already is the instant America is neutered.

They don't have to plan on war. Where they may have blown it is letting North Korea re-activate Japan. They won't ask anyone's permission before dealing with it if it gets worse. And that could set off a general war sooner than Beijing would plan.

Could be. Probably is the name of the 5GW battle plan.

How would we deal with the carrier-killers?

A country as great as ours could only be defeated from within (largely at least). And liberal vermin have been trying their damndest for decades. They have really ramped it up in recent years though. China can just wait it out a few more years...eventually we'd roll out the red carpet for them and bow.

You are missing the entire point of this thread. China is NOT sitting it out. They are paying US officials to create the havoc you are seeing today.

The point is the war is very real and its happening right now but 99.99% of Americans do not realize it. Which is exactly what China wants. They are winning the war.

listening to some of my military buddies, they've always indicated that our Naval capabilities would absolutely dominate the Chinese.

If that is the case, how would a country plan a mass invasion to an island or across an entire ocean, when they cannot control the seas?

I think your naval buddies are right. Our navy is vastly superior to theirs, and then even if they got by it, they would hit the "now what?" problem. Amphibious invasions are incredibly difficult; D-day was hard and we launched from twenty miles away against an opponent that was getting thrashed by the reds. An invasion from 5k miles away against a hardened beachfront of a full strength opponent without first establishing air superiority - how many carriers of fighters and bombers would they need to do this? 30? 40? - would be DOA unless they nuked the whole West Coast and then beached on the ashes.

No I get it and am with you. I am talking about actual boots on the ground and a more "official" invasion.

I fear what has been set in motion is irreversible.

Britain just launched 2 new aircraft carriers with one destined for the Pacific. China has 2 one being a refurbished one acquired from the Ukraine. We have alliances with just about all the Pacific countries around Chine with exception of Cambodia and today Philippines but maybe not tomorrow. We also have about 16 military bases from the Aleutians to Diego Garcia.
Agree there will not be a shooting war with China the war is within ourself with China and Russian help.

China doesn't have the capacity to invade Taiwan or India or even to beat Vietnam. Their navy (The People's Liberation Army Navy - I love that) couldn't fight it's way past the first island chain off its coast. I'm not too concerned about their military might.

Agreed except the last line. China is going to fall apart soon (is falling apart now). Read some Zeihan for elaboration.

I'm mostly concerned with an EMP attack which would cause millions of American deaths. You talk about the left eating their own.

I would imagine we would employ a decapitation strategy to minimize casualties and time. And I doubt we'd be going it alone.

Cold War? Yes and we are already fighting it.

In the era of total war China is unbeatable fighting a conventional war, so I'm sure our leaders are "fighting" using the same tactics we used against the USSR.

The USSR was brought down internally due to economic strife and it took 50 years. China will be a different animal since they aren't going to have economic troubles for the foreseeable future.

This. A Cold War is already happening, but a direct conflict between the US and China is very unlikely. Nuclear weapons have pretty much ended the idea of direct conflict between major international powers.

I won't be surprised to see proxy wars in the future especially in Africa. Most of the nations of Africa are still young, but their populations are booming and they have high amounts of natural resources. By the end of the century there will be a few pretty powerful African nations and China and the US will be competing for influence in the region.

I'd also expect to see an escalation of cyber warfare between US and China as well.

This is already happening, see PRC BRI. Disrupting the BRI is key in keeping China influence in check. We must inform the world of the debt trap those commie *******s are trying to lay around the world. You're correct in the fact that There will certainly be an increase in offensive & defensive cyber ops but you probably won't see the effects of the ops unless the IC decides to share details.

How do you come to this conclusion? The PLAN, PLAAF, & SSF have been watching us fight for 20 years and are all rapidly advancing their tech to counter our capabilities. They recognize our dependence on space and are investing heavily in tech to disrupt our ability to operate in and through space. And of course we are all well aware of their cyber capabilities as well.
