According to Trump in the Chris Wallace interview, we're 2 weeks from a completely new healthcare plan that will replace Obamacare. Anyone had a look at some of the specifics of the plan?

Weird. It's almost like the media has been completely consumed by something else....

Honestly, i would like to see what it has to say. Although, one of the few things i agree with Cuban on, any health care reform that focuses on using insurance as a tool is doomed to fail

I didn't know this about Cuban but I hope he's being listened to. Insurance has done nothing but drive costs sky high. There's no telling how much can be cut by taking out their profits and the excessive administrative cost to process claims including multiple rejections before finally coughing up what you paid for.

A great deal of the costs rose out of control because of said insurance and Government interference in that cost of insurance. 35-40% of todays med costs are administrative... have nothing to do with really getting health care per se .

That's a great story and all but I'm not sure how the history lesson is going to improve anyone's situation. I'm not trying to say Obamacare is the answer to the problem. It isn't. My response was to Ellis Wyatt's (typical) cynicism. It's fine to say "everyone pay for your own ****", but that's just not a realistic "plan" when it comes to health care for most Americans.

Totally incorrect. There has not been a free market in health care since the advent of Medicare in I believe 1965. And look at when costs went up.

...and no telling how many of those 18% MassAggie asserts CHOSE not to carry coverage for their own reasons.

Not it matters all that much; stealing from one person to pay for another persons' free services is immoral and unConstitutional, no matter what reliable conservative vote chief justice Roberts says.

Also, MassAggie, my benefits plan is part of my compensation. If you want an employer-sponsored plan, go work for someone who offers one. You don't get to be an entrepreneur and have me pay for your healthcare.

So just for a reference point, who on here knows what happens if I take Medicare money and charge an indigent patient less than what Medicare pays out of compassion?

When did the increasing cost spiral first appear in health care?

What happens if I do not collect the 20% Medicare does not pay for out of compassion for a poor person?

How differently is it handled if a Medicare makes a mistake on my reimbursement vs me or my nursing submitting a wrong code? Even if it pays me less than the correct code?

And all of this was in place before 2008 and Obamacare.

Maybe it is me, but that is no free market.

The market does find the most efficient way to get most people coverage at the best prices. That 18% chose to go uninsured is irrelevant.
