Best way to start to tackle the healthcare crisis is to stop supporting sugar, corn, wheat, and the like. Eat real food. Eat meat.

Nabisco, Pepsi Co, Coca Cola, Kellog, Keebler, and M&M Mars would like to have a word

And wheat is not bad for you for 97% of the population
Going Gluten free and losing weight does not mean gluten is bad.

It means you are eating less crap and refuse to pay 5.99 for 4 gluten free poptarts

My sourdough or English toasting bread is not unhealthy
Beg pardon Ma'am...but wheat carbohydrates contain STARCH, and starch is what your body immediately stores as fat, or laboriously breaks down into sugar. And excess sugar is a MAJOR contributor to Type 2 diabetes, which affects almost one-third of the US population.

And, it is directly relatable to amount of carbs, and STARCHY carbs, we have in our diet. Check out Federal, AMA, ADA or any nutritional pyramid you wish...they invariably recommend 150 - 300 carbs per day, with no restrictions on STARCH.

I have been on some form of Keto diet for 2+ years now, which restrict Carbs to 20-40 a day (depends on activity level) as well as protein intake (1.1 gm/kg lean body mass). I lost 38# in the first 4 months, and watched my A1C PLUMMET from 7.0 to 5.6...normal, as in "no problema".

What's left, with no carbs or protein? FAT. Pure unadulterated FAT. Although you don't want to overdo saturated fats, you get more energy from eating fats, it burns cleaner, and ...get this...no one has ever gotten FAT by eating fat...they got FAT by eating CARBS, especially STARCHY carbs.

If you want healthy, eat high fiber foods, like Joseph's Lavash flatbreads and Pitas.

With all due respect, NOT bread, homemade or otherwise...and yeah, I agree with you on the Gluten bit. Unless you suffer from Celiac's disease...'cause guess what...gluten-free bread mostly use tapioca, rice or potato flours...oh, wait...they are the grains which are even HIGHER in starch than wheat...see above.

Just curious. Doesn't seem like any other conservatives are talking about the new plan.
The reason we aren't talking about it is because we do not need nor want the government to plan any of our health care, that's an individuals responsibility. However, since half the country can not seem to think for themselves government is unfortunately willing and able to plan out important aspects of their lives for them.

Cringe to think what a Trump healthcare plan is really like. Problems I see with healthcare are affordability, access and safety. Anything that can start simply and address those points would be a good step in the right direction.

Something for a unified Congress and Executive to take for action, unfortunately I don't see a bipartisan path forward.

Sorry for the confusion......I meant other conservatives that are involved in government, like senators and representatives that will need to tweak, debate, finalize, and eventually pass the plan. None of them have said a word about the "roll out" of a brand new Obamacare replacement that is supposed to occur in the next 10 days. Odd strategy in an election year, wouldn't you say?

I have Medi-Share right now and it seems the medical establishment is pretty upset that I don't use the overpriced insurance scam they have set in place.

There are ways to reform the HC industry that does make it reasonable for most people, not that drastic either. The market will find ways if allowed. The last thing we want is nationalization where affordable means heavy rationing of the more costly resources and high taxes.
"The market" was left basically unfettered leading up to Obamacare, and a vast segment of the American population was uninsured as a result. Nearly 18% of Americans were uninsured leading up to Obamacare, as opposed to approximately 10% now. Again, I'm not touting Obamacare as the answer, but the fact that nearly 1 in 5 Americans was uninsured in 2008 is telling. "The market" will always find away to maximize profits. There is no guarantee that "the market" will have any motivation to answer the problem of 18% (or greater) uninsured. That's just not how capitalism works.
Totally incorrect. There has not been a free market in health care since the advent of Medicare in I believe 1965. And look at when costs went up.

Shazam.

And edited to add that using 2008 as a reference year for anything is kind of skewed,
The so called "manage care" and no deductible introduced by the insurance companies sure didn't help with medical treatment either. It really killed the solo private practice doc.

Yet we are FAR WORSE OFF now after enrolling all those millions of people just so we can say 'See, they're INSURED!'

Affordability is the issue, not insurability. Until you get that fixed, we'd be far better off where we were before Obama screwed the nation. Even with 18% uninsured. There were huge numbers of healthy people who were uninsured by choice, and had no problem with that.

There were also a large number uninsured because of preexisting health conditions.

It's been 2 weeks.

Actually it's been 3.5 years since he first promised it in January 2017, but who is counting?

So....did Trump make this happen yet?

The only govt intervention needed is:

1) Repeal DebacleCare
2) Repeal EMTALA
3) Repeal Medicare
4) Repeal MediAid
5) Continue removing govt from being in the way of greatness, it's innate superpower....

According to Trump in the Chris Wallace interview, we're 2 weeks from a completely new healthcare plan that will replace Obamacare. Anyone had a look at some of the specifics of the plan?

I have been waiting over 10 years for the 2500 dollar savings on my health insurance that King Obama promised.

Guess the check is in the mail.

Obamacare failed miserably, so something has to be done. Obama ignored much of the law himself since it was so bad, like the individual and small business mandate. He even bailed out the insurers who were taking massive losses.

The plan should be rolling it all back.

Before Trump was elected, I remember Paul Ryan saying the Republicans had multiple plans better that O-care they could roll out to replace it with.

When the time came to put up or shut up, Ryan and the Republicans didn't have jack *****

This is probably the greatest failing of Trump's presidency. One of the very, very few promises he didn't deliver on.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Repeal Debacle are
Repeal EMTALA
