It's not hard to figure out who these guys are.......My son says they generally communicate in grunts or nothing more than 2 syllable words.

Optics are everything, swinging away on the guy and spraying him down like that doesn't send the message that they are their to help the situation. Just the opposite, it escalates the situation. Not a good headline to run under.

Instead of getting an answer on Saturday, Mr. David, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound former Navy varsity wrestler, found himself being beaten with a baton by a federal officer dressed in camouflage fatigues as another doused him with pepper spray, according to video of the encounter.

Mr. David was taken to a nearby hospital, where a specialist said his right hand was broken and would require surgery to install pins, screws and plates.

"I'm appalled and disappointed at the feds' behavior that whoever led them and trained them allowed them to become this way," Mr. David said. "This is a failure of leadership more than it is a failure of their own individual behavior towards me."

Imagine this will get turned off soon. It was not requested by anyone in the state and seems to be a hindrance.

"They came out in this phalanx, running, and then they plowed into a bunch of protesters in the intersection of the street and knocked them over. They came out to fight," David said. One officer pointed a semi-automatic weapon at David's chest, he said, and video shows another shoving him backwards as he tried to talk with the officers.

"I took a couple steps back, straightened up, and then just stood my ground right there, arms down by my side," David recalled.

One officer began whacking at David with the baton. When he doesn't fall or even flinch, another officer sprays him full in the face. David then retreats a few steps while making an obscene gesture.

"They are thugs and goons," David said. "I couldn't recognize anything tactically that they were attempting to do that was even remotely related to crowd control. It looked to me like a gang of guys with sticks."

David will need reconstructive surgery with pins and plates on his ring finger that was shattered. A bone in his hand was also broken.

A baton round to the midsection would solve the problem. Also, his kneecaps and elbows are legitimate baton strike zones. Their problem is using polymer batons when they should be using something a bit more old school

This is the truth. They use a hard wood baton. Big white guy would be a tuna fish after a few strikes.

Each group is furiously dehumanizing the other, I notice. They're not describing eachother as people.

Granted the ideologically possessed may not behave as a normal seemingly rational individual but they are still people.

I would hope the federal officers would show more restraint and discretion than the protestors, but you do have many violent protesters hiding behind and amongst "nonviolent" protesters, and that arrangement of human shield is very purposeful.

Yes. Because when I want to go "talk to people" I always decide to do it at night time during a riot.

Really cant believe the feds were so harsh to him. It's less that 2months of nightly riots that they've endured, and they should be used to people ignoring lawful orders.

This guy is a ******* regardless of his intent. The protesters were told to vacate and they did not including this da. The results are the consequences of their actions. Last I looked, we are a nation of laws regardless of what the progressives believe. **** them.
