It's as obvious as the day is long that the statue isn't confederate, doesn't oppress anyone, and removing it would not improve race relations.

The bottom line to all of this IMO is "sticking it to the man!". Most of this stuff comes down to overcoming/reducing/eliminating authority of any kind.

While I completely and totally disagree with Martin's opinion and his suggested actions with regard to Sully and the football team, I also completely agree he has a right to his opinion.

Any players that agree and act accordingly I'd be 100% in favor of them all losing their scholarships. Sure almost all of them have other options. That's fine... take them and go. If the team has to suck because of it... so be it. Football/Sports shouldn't be the prime driver of Texas A & M culture nor American culture.I love A&M football but that would be the end of it for me if A&M caved in.

This whole statue ridiculousness has nothing to do with what BLM purports to fight for. For that matter , BLM has very little to do with what BLM purports to fight for even though they have suckered a fair number of people into thinking they do.
