32,000 new cases, 1,320 deaths
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/
New cases is because of more testing. For example we had a new confirmed case here that was listed as recovered the same day it was confirmed.
The deaths suck though.

The only number worth really paying attention to is this ratio
Deaths/(deaths plus recovered). That number has steadily creeped up to an astonishing 21%. That number has steadily grown and should, God willing, peak soon. As testing proliferates and more people overcome the illness that ratio will approach the true death rate as an asymptote. That 21% number needs to drop and needs to drop fast or the world is going to really hurt.
If more people are getting sick than are getting a test the rate will skew towards the most severe cases. Not trying to downplay the severity.BoydCrowder13 said:Bregxit said:Exsurge Domine said:aginlakeway said:Exsurge Domine said:

Despite the increase in testing, the death rate has increased to 2.7%....not good.
The recovered number relies on the fact that, by definition, a formerly positive patient records not one, but two negative tests.Keegan99 said:
We are grossly undercounting the recovered number if we're not getting tests of all the "mild" cases.

I completely agree, but that number has to a to start coming down.
