I understand that finding out isn't going to curb or help one way or another, but it definitely creates more urgency with anyone I've come in contact with and their decision on self quarantining.

I've been texting people that I THINK I have it, but I don't know for sure.

If I knew for sure, thst would probably impact the people I come in contact with's next moves.

This is kind of freaking me out. 3 days after arriving in Lisbon in February I had severe digestive issues like this describes for like a week. But no respiratory issues.

I still think it's their **** food

84% of the digestive symptoms were loss of appetite, so I'm not sure how much to make of that. If I'm feeling bad, loss of appetite is more expected than surprising.

Something like that ran through my family in Jan as well.

Both my boys hide diarrhea for a week and then it went away.

We are thinking it was food poisoning. But it lasted like 7 days. Fever, bad diarrhea, I didnt want to eat anything and my wife had no issues. Plus side, I lost like 15 lbs

As of now, the total for today stands at 1051 dead globally. First day over 1k deaths and a 10% increase from yesterday. Would be nice if we could just fast forward 10 days or so.

Just to add some perspective - totally for perspective sake only.

Daily Global Deaths - 150,000
Daily Global Deaths due to age related causes - 100,000

So if we take these numbers and extrapolate them, 1 year's worth of age related deaths would be 36.5 Million. 2 years is over 70 Million.

70 Million People will die of age related causes globally in the next 2 years. When all is said and done, I believe this virus could very well "preempt" a significant portion of that number.

If the virus kills 1 Million people globally this year, that number could very well include 300,000 - 500,000 people WHO WOULD HAVE DIED ANYWAY. That really changes the death rate due to the virus if you back those people out.

Of course we won't know this till far after the fact, but since all anyone wants to do is argue statistics, this is a statistic I haven't heard anyone offer.

It's actually included in most SEIR modes. They include a factor for unrelated deaths reducing the susceptible population. They also include a factor for new births adding to it.

I'd be very interested in knowing what percentage they attribute to this then, and over what period of time.

Since you seem to like stats and all...

All respect - you are quite valuable to these boards, although I disagree with many of you premises.

100% will die. And that is likely the most peer reviewed observation in history.

So let the blame game begin. Libs will blame Trump. Of course, maybe I missed it but I only saw dems interested in impeachment and not coronavirus tests.

I personally do not think it is anyone's fault. Except the Chi coms unleashing this crap on the world. And remember Trump was called a racist for limiting travel with China and actually that will turn out to be brilliant.

They're young, idiotic, and pretty much have a 0.0% chance of dying from this virus. And their parents are even young...in terms of being "at-risk". Not excusing it, but many of us would have responded with similar attitudes back in the day.

My parents would have sicced my grandparents to kidnap me and keep me at their house in Hearne, instead of allowing me to go on Spring Break during a pandemic. (Obviously because my grandparents were very close to A&M and parents were out in West Texas. Timing.)

Of course, I was a pretty good kid. If my parents told me not to go on Spring Break, I probably wouldn't have anyway. But if I were being rebellious thinking they wouldn't know and go anyway, the grandparent option was there to insure it. And if like now, classes were cancelled? I'm sure my grandparents would have collected me about 45 minutes after that was announced and whisked me off to quarantine me at their place.

Every kid there has a parent that failed them and allowed this behavior.

Florida might a have bump of cases in two weeks, but these spring breakers are 18-22 mostly and will probably just sit in their room with a cold and never be entered into the Chinese virus case data.
