Just spoke to my bud who is in the competition and they said it's still on.

This was all about SXSW. Everybody else. Keep truckin

So this thing is at six figures plus in a smidge under a 100 different countries across this entire world.

When does it become a pandemic? Genuinely curious.

I would just ask you to stay home if you get sick. Consumers won't be the ones that get to decide if things get shutdown. The externalities are just too large.

Please try to be sensitive to the feelings and agendas of the bureaucracies that are highly trained to control the messaging around this event and refrain from using the p-word. It's very important that we don't induce unnecessary alarm by using well-defined words in proper context.

Unless they stay home the two weeks prior to knowing they're sick, they'll still be spreading the virus.

Talked to my mom earlier and one of her cousins and his wife are going on a 2 week tour of the Mediterranean with stops in Greece, Turkey, and Israel (probably others as well). Tourists from Greece already infected some people in Israel.

Everyone is telling them not to go, not just for their safety, but because his mother is in her 80s, has severe COPD, and usually gets pneumonia 4-5 times a year. If she got the virus, it will be a certain death sentence.

Their response is, "we don't want to lose the money we already spent."

Damn. That's harsh.

No one knows how long someone can spread the virus before symptoms begin, or if they are only a danger once symptoms appear. Reports have been all over the place since day 1.

14 days is virtually certain to be BS. There is no other virus out there that does that (not counting things like HIV, Herpes, Hepatitis, and the like which are completely different), but for whatever reason, some want to give this virus god like properties with the ability to do/cause anything and everything.

True/False isn't canceled as far as I know.

I am headed to a film on Pepe the Frog and another on Texas Boys State tonight.

It's only 10K or so that descend on this town. But it brings a couple of million dollars to the economy.

All I think is all the restaurants and bars screwed with their orders to accommodate all these people. Not all can be frozen. It sucks for the service workers.

But you gotta do what you gotta do when no one is showing up for the shows.

The family has already decided they will not be allow to visit any family member for 30 days upon return, just to be safe.

I suspect Christmas won't be very fun this year.

Not a cruise, tour group, so they'll fly from country to country.

My first thought is, "oh great, about a week or two after they get back, we'll hear about most or all of the members of said group all coming down with the ****ing virus."

Hopefully no, but because of their complete disregard for theirs and everyone else's safety.

They're about to be persona non grata for a long time.

I don't understand this at all. Zero chance all those kids stay home. They're going to roam around and spread it to people/get it from people they might not otherwise have come into contact with had school not been closed.

  • Bathrooms. Tagged as the "epicenter of cross-contamination" and the "bio-hazardous waste transfer station," facility bathrooms are one of the germiest places of all. E. coliand other fecal toxins are often found on nearly every surface; folks who wash their hands before leaving are nonetheless presented with germy door handles. As a solution, use paper towels to turn faucets off

Especially bathrooms on the IT floors. We have to put signs in the IT bathrooms because "you know who" puts trash in the urinals. They are absolutely disgusting bathrooms.
