No, I'm good. There's literally only one poster that has set me off and I'm over it. I appreciate the conversation here, it just needs to be known that people here could be affected... keep that in mind. This affects real people.

It's not a popular opinion but I understand what you're saying. There will be some type of event that will thin out the earths population at some point. We are in a golden era and unprecedented really. No large wars, etc that's culled the population.

My wife does pharmacy consults for assisted living facilities and nursing homes. The parent company just sent out an email informing their consultants that CMS (medicare) is temporarily suspending their annual surveys so that they can immediately devote their resources to any coronavirus outbreaks that might occur at these facilities. They will still be responding to specific reported complaints but they will be delaying the routine inspections until this all blows over. This was in response to the Trump administration's plan to deal with this outbreak, so anybody stating that he isn't doing anything or doesn't have an executive plan is uninformed.

The only people saying that have an agenda.

Some of our families are going to be the hardest hit... excuse me if I don't think giving up on trying is an option. I apologize if that comes across as defensive, but I'm not going to lie, I'm very concerned for my daughters. I get that. And I'm trying as well as I've got two young kids myself. I've washed my hands, used hand sanitizer, and cancelled work trips.

All I'm saying is Im starting to believe that what I'm doing is actually not helping. I'm not sure anything can help. Doesn't mean I don't stop trying.

But to truly stop this we either lock everyone in their house for a month, or we pray that warmer weather does help the slow of it.

This is a bad take. I can't find the graphic but there was an excellent plot posted earlier in this thread that illustrated why prevention/containment efforts are vital to containing an epidemic/pandemic. It consisted of two bell curves, one tall and skinny and one that was lower and flatter. Can someone repost? I feel like it should be posted every time someone says we should just let it ride.
