you know i've been thinking this corona virus has a silver lining. there are too many people on earth today. humanely killing off the 2-3% weakest wouldn't be so bad. We had a bad crop this year. What are you going to do?

My comment was in general. Think of it as an freakenomics type thought. I mean no one here harm, but I stand by the silver lining.

Gov. Abbott said the lab in Austin is able to test approximately 26 cases per day, the labs in Houston and El Paso are able to perform approximately 15 tests per day and the labs in Dallas and Lubbock can perform approximately 10 tests per day.
Once all of the labs are online, Gov. Abbot said Texas will be able to perform more than 125 tests per day.
There's the big ramp up in testing. In the metroplex, they'll be able to run an unprecedented *checks notes* 10 tests per day.
They pretty much copied word for word from this...they didn't editorialize anything...Rapier108 said:Not the first time that BNO (should be renamed CVN, CoronaVirusNews) has done that.brucoh said:lunchbox said:
Nice. No other details given. So this person could've died from something totally unrelated. Hmmm I wonder where all the panic is coming from?
A while back 4 homeless people in LA were found unconscious. They put out their usual headline tweet. It was posted here with every intention of making people think it was coronavirus.

The media has weaponized this thing
Imagine if they reported every single flu case and death.
Sigh.
Yea it's pretty grim reality when you realize the media runs your feelings and your life
Just looking at the #s.

Your numbers don't address the crux of the issue. I'm looking forward to you coming back and illustrating how much media actually controls you.

I declare a state of emergency. Seems like the cool thing to do.

According to state health officials, the three patients are a married couple in their 70s and a woman in her 50s from Montgomery County.
The three patients traveled abroad to an undisclosed country with the same group. They all returned on Feb. 20 and took themselves to the hospital for treatment. The three patients weren't contacted by authorities until Tuesday, after they went to the hospital.
The patients are said to be in "good health," officials said. Officials said they are isolated in their homes.

So every US case is linked to some international traveler. Can we please just close the borders to incoming travelers? No non-citizens.
We can't close our borders period.
I'm of the mind now to let this thing run wild. It already is, the only thing is people are pretending like they are stopping it.
Some of our families are going to be the hardest hit... excuse me if I don't think giving up on trying is an option. I apologize if that comes across as defensive, but I'm not going to lie, I'm very concerned for my daughters. If I have to continue reminding people not everyone is safe in order to up their chances of avoiding this, that's what I'm going to do.
I get that. And I'm trying as well as I've got two young kids myself. I've washed my hands, used hand sanitizer, and cancelled work trips.
All I'm saying is Im starting to believe that what I'm doing is actually not helping. I'm not sure anything can help. Doesn't mean I don't stop trying.
But to truly stop this we either lock everyone in their house for a month, or we pray that warmer weather does help the slow of it.
