My Conspiracy Theory:

China decided to send some of its infected citizens to the US to spread the disease. They were told to not inform US authorities of their symptoms.

Let's see how long it takes until this makes the rounds.

I wonder if the death just reported in Washington State is that new case they announced last night.

Wasn't the case in Washington state just identified? And now that person has died?

My first thought was the woman from South Korea.

They said the student with the presumed case was doing okay, but never said how the traveler from Korea was doing.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

The family can take solace in this being a vast left wing media conspiracy and just the flu

The flu will kill over 100 people today in the US, and approximately 4 in Washington State. Around 50% of these could have been prevented by vaccination.

Not the flu indeed

Quit lying, troll.

You know what Trump is talking about when he says hoax, the Democrat lies that he cut the CDC budget and other such things.

Just an honest question. Trump called the Coronavirus a hoax last night and all under control so wondering how far he will push that rhetoric. It's trump after all?

He didn't say that at all and you know it. And I've been mocking conservatives blowing this whole thing off lately. See my post just above.

Unfortunately that's the type of people who are disproportionately likely to die from this. That being said, some years the flu mortality for those >75 is up to 5% (like in 2017-2018).

My critique on the person who can do the most to save lives is not an indecent attack on the dead. Quite the opposite actually.

If we are being honest there's not a lot a president can do now but get out of the way, be positive, and allow emergency funding where needed. He's just a man and the virus doesn't care who he is.

So what? A death is a death.

Because from a societal perspective, there's a big difference between a disease that kills primarily the ill and elderly and one capable of killing a high percentage of young healthy people.

It's why the Spanish flu was so destructive to human society, it disproportionately killed young high productive members of society. The mortality rate for those 18-50 was over 5% in some countries.

What an ignorant and glib statement. The POTUS is the most powerful person in the world on almost any issue.

For pandemics, for example, he can, at the very least, ensure Americans have the best and most up to date info on what is happening and how to protect their families. Bottlenecking the info flow and putting a non-health professional in charge of the info is incredibly dangerous at best and may end up costing lives.

JUST NOW: CNN interviewer to a doctor:

INT: What do you want the President to say?

DR: He needs to stop saying it's a hoax.

INT: What sort of damage will he cause by calling it a hoax?

DR: People will not take it seriously, etc.

ALSO--the death in Washington was in Seattle, not someone already identified.

CNN is going to play this just like the "good people on both sides" comment.

Yeah diabetes is heavily correlated with death from Covid19, obesity as well. Any major health complications significantly increase your chances of dying from this.
