The way I see it is there are lies, damned lies and statistics.

It's easy for the CCP to report fake numbers. It would be difficult to fake so many horrible videos.

I believe the videos and the CCP actions (apocalyptic) more than I believe the statistics (nothing burger).

Still optimistic that it is contained by aggressive CDC screening and hopeful that other races are less susceptible than Asians.

Well, think about how many people the economic impacts are going to affect. My -5 might account for future impacts, so you could put it at -3 and slide it as needed.

Also, isn't it up to closer to 70,000,000 people quarantined now? I lost track...

So we are probably seeing more realistic effects from China in the videos and accounts than the government numbers being released. Aside from the cruise ships that are virus incubators and several other Asian countries, have we had any widespread outbreaks outside of Asia?

I'm around a -15. Good reason to buy some more toys and upgrade supplies. A great opportunity for our country, economy and neighboring countries to capitalize on the long term manufacturing needs.

Not just food but medications, vitamins, and general health care products. Are the lockdowns causing deaths and/or greater issues from the exposed because of a lack of at home options? And would these deaths be attributed to the virus or as 'complications associated' with the virus?

I think it was someone from the CDC or something similar who said that the death classification China is using are how they always operate. Basically whatever you die from is listed on the death certificate. So if you have the virus, but die from heart attack, stroke, pneumonia etc that is what will be listed. Apparently they have always counted like that and the rest of the world thinks they are idiots.

The other thing I have a problem with, so many people are dying. They aren't doing autopsies. They are just guessing at cause of death at best.

Definitely concerning but to play devil's advocate it could just be due to them requiring that the bodies be burned as opposed to burial. I would imagine that in a city of 11 million people 100 people dying in a day probably isn't uncommon.

How many people in a city of 11 million die every day? They are not sorting out the cause of death first. Now that everyone must immediately be cremated how does that impact the capacity?
