See ya. Surprised you still had a job.

In Private, Republicans Admit They Acquitted Trump Out of Fear
By Sherrod Brown

In private, many of my colleagues agree that the president is reckless and unfit. They admit his lies. And they acknowledge what he did was wrong. They know this president has done things Richard Nixon never did. And they know that more damning evidence is likely to come out.

They are afraid that Mr. Trump might give them a nickname like "Low Energy Jeb" and "Lyin' Ted," or that he might tweet about their disloyalty. Or worst of all that he might come to their state to campaign against them in the Republican primary.

Sidenote ...

EVERY prediction you made about the impeachment and Trump leaving office was wrong. EVERY one.

You said he would be out of office in a few weeks. And that more than 50 senators would vote for removal. The list of your failed predictions is long.

So why do you think that is? Why are all of your predictions wrong?

Any ideas?
He keeps posting and believing Fake News

I don't know if this has been posted yet but did y'all notice that the republicans in the crowd looked healthy and in decent shape. The democrats all looked like they took a bus from a retirement home. They looked so unhealthy and sloppy.

Also, Pence looked fit as a fiddle!

I saw one really fat guy on the republican side, he had to pull on the seat in front of him and take a couple of little hops before he could stand up for each ovation. The rest looked to be in good shape.

Sure. You seem to argue that if a President acts in any way that might (even in some far fetched circumstance, including writing a book) may personally benefit him/her after their presidency, that those actions are impeachable during their presidency.
Writing a book was just an example of how being the President could be personally beneficial. Every President has the right to do that once they leave office. While in office though, the President is not permitted to use the power of his office with the intention of benefiting themselves personally.

For instance, Joe Biden is not permitted to use the power of his Vice Presidency to protect his son. If he did, he should be punished.
But unfortunately, the person with the knowledge, means and authority to initiate that investigation isn't allowed to do so in your view.
There is nothing stopping Attorney General Barr from opening an investigation. White House Counsel today confirmed our DOJ has no such investigation opened. Don't you think that's strange?

You don't seriously believe they could announce an investigation into Biden family corruption tomorrow without the left going ballistic, do you? A new impeachment inquiry would begin immediately.

Haven forbid the left go ballistic! Whatever would we do?

Announcement not necessary. Have grand jury look into it. (Maybe they already are)

White House Counsel was asked by a Senator yesterday if it was being investigated, and they said No.

Huh, its almost like the DOJ might have been hamstrung on opening the investigation until after impeachment ended.

Weird. Its almost like the whole thing was a stall tactic.

My basis is we would have heard about it by now, loudly proclaimed by Trump or at least a strategic leak. And that officials who would know, aka Lindsey Graham, have publicly called for one.

You have no basis to claim that there is.

Gary might actually have the power to see the future, just only the stuff where he is dead ass wrong.

Lindsey Graham just made his nightmare a reality! Dork.

Graham opened a a senate inquiry three months ago. Crickets. A politically motivated investigation ordered by Trump doesn't signal new found credibility. Giuliani has been "investigating" for two years, Graham has access to White House records of Biden meetings. Russian intelligence agencies are digging for Biden dirt on Trump's behalf. Still crickets.

All Rudy has to show for all that work is the after-the-fact deposition of a disgraced, corrupt, prosecutor, working on behalf of a Russian-Ukrainian mobster oligarch trying to avoid extradition. Shokin was the most hated man in Ukraine for reasons having nothing to do with Burisma, and the entire country tells us he's lying.

But Trump couldn't believe it. Not on this or the stupid Crowdstrike thing. He couldn't because he didn't want to. What the Russians were selling him he liked better than the truth his staff was giving him.

We will see about this Biden stuff, buddy. Don't think I didn't notice you are still drinking that Russia conspiracy koolaid.

Plus the irony of you complaining about a "politically motivated investigation" after the garbage investigation by House Managers is glorious. Cry more.

Mapledork, let me give you some advice to understand Trump. Take him seriously, not literally. According to you, you think he is a stupid fraud liar, yet you hang your argument on the words of Donald Trump like a religious fanatic.

Ukraine meddled in 2016, to the point the FBI (and you to this day) got fooled into thinking Trump is a puppet of Putin. It's worth investigating. Just like The Biden's blatant unethical behavior. Sorry your team is so ****ing blatantly hypocritical and stupid.

More evidence released today under FOIA. There was no interagency review process.

I have seen them before. Based on the content I viewed, Dem propaganda site.

Although in that tweet speaking of "unredacted" emails but showing one email that is completely redacted is a nice touch.

The emails are real. Released under FOIA.

Read the source material for yourself if you don't trust commentary. The White House was lying to the DOD, GAO, and congress, and they continue to release absurdly redacted documents in a stalling strategy.

Quote:

Paoletta wrote in an early December 2019 letter to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), explaining in bureaucratese that the Pentagon's legal affairs division simply had not expressed any concerns about the legality of the White House's Ukraine aid hold.

But Paoletta was simply lying.

A late August email from DOD Deputy Principle General Counsel Edwin "Scott" Castle expresses the Pentagon's concerns about exactly that. Castle's email also carbon copied DOD General Counsel Paul Neydestroying any plausible OMB defense that the full chain of command was not apprised.

Again, the originally-released version of this email was redacted to the point of meaninglessness.

They had to go back to court to fight the redactions, new documents produced with a few redactions removed, back to court, redactions, back to court, rinse, repeat.
