She finally got something right, just so happens it's about bartending.

She's equating a bartender knowingly over serving a drunk patron with a bank making a loan to a company, who in turn subs out countless trades and buys pipe and valves from other vendors when a valve leaks from a manufacturing defect.

That logic train is just a masterpiece to behold.

By her logic if her 401K owns any part of a financial institution that made a loan for the pipeline she should hold herself accountable and liable.

WFCEO: "Ms AOC - if I loan you money for an education, its not my fault if you were too stupid to get one. I only care that you pay me back."

AOC - repping the bartenders. Like, wow! You go girl.
If you think I am a liberal, you are incorrect. Assume sarcasm on my part. Sorry if something I post has already been posted.

Her initial logic is equating Wells Fargo to a distillery, or the bank who loaned the money to the Dram Shop!

So if you get what I'm sure is the extreme pleasure of having to testify before Congress and defend your company....wouldn't you rather have aoc asking the questions rather than someone who was knowledgeable about the subject matter being discussed? Seems like the Wells CEO would welcome these ridiculous questions that end up making all the headlines, taking the heat off the real questions that others asked regarding their company.
He's a CEO. He has better things to do than submitting to idiotic questions. It would be infuriating.

While I would normally agree, in this case the CEO wasn't there to accept a commendation or award. He was there to answer for the business practices of his company. Rather than us discussing what WF allegedly did, we're discussing ridiculous questions posed to him by a certain member of Congress. I would think he'd prefer us discussing the latter.

Just wondering....if circumstances come to pass that put the Democrats in power, will they actually go after banks that finance the production of fossil fuels? These companies can't finance themselves...and if they make financing the oil companies difficult they can really hamper that industry. Seems like they tried something similar a few years ago by trying to make gun manufacturers liable for and crimes committed by the eventual gun owners. Had that succeeded....

That is awesome. There are TONS of upstream, midstream, and downstream companies that just slashed their budgets now and can operate haphazardly since the banks are gonna have to pay.

She's lapped dumb, is ahead of stupid, and is quickly gaining on moronic.

Reading on Twitter is funny yet frightening. Her sycophants are saying it's a long con by her to start making banks think twice about financing large scale fossil fuel operations due to the banks being liable for mistakes. That's how she is going to get her new green deal going. Fear of liability, making drilling companies work harder to gain funding thus reducing opportunities over time. Quite a reach.

It's really not that much of a reach. The Justice Democrats really want full control. If they get a majority they will regulate who banks can lend to. Leading to implementing the GND.

Every time some stupid, idiotic, ignorant, clueless statement gets tweeted or comes out of her mouth I am just dumbfounded anyone elected her dumb ass to Congress.

It seems like she wants to go back to the 1600's and live with a powerful ruling class and peasants with no middle class. News alert, she would and will be a peasant. She brings absolutely nothing to the table. No intelligence, no discernable education, no wealth, no experience, no trade, no skill, no talent. She is a fool who doesn't realize as soon as she gets everyone to follow her idea they will kick her to the curb and roll right over her in the gutter.

Safe Dem seat held by party big who took it for granted + Low turnout.

2020 will tell. She is burning more bridges in her own party than anywhere else. And her district isn't entirely made up 29 year old undergrads and hipster trustafarians.

On the other hand, Vermont keeps electing a cartoon socialist with three houses, so.....who knows.

I think the Dems are in McGovern territory now. They are the party of Sarah Lawrence undergrads and systemic anti-semtism.

If her policies were somehow implemented, none of it really matters. It would cause immense civil unrest which would ultimately lead to states leaving the union and forming their own pacts. The notion that we can provide the basic level of power needed to sustain a functioning society, much less feed it, under such childish bunk as the GND, are embarrassingly moronic.

It will take decades upon decades and huge advances in technology before there is any hope whatsoever of a carbon free energy environment that doesn't guarantee mass suffering, starvation, and open warfare.

That's not being dramatic, that's just a fact.

Even the AFL-CIO understands how stupid the GND is. I still can't believe how many 2020 candidates were so quick to support it. None of them stand a chance unless they start drastically distancing themselves.

Yep. Like I said, you want to start a shooting war in this country over basic resources, they're on the right track.

I'd like a house or senate Republican to propose the following bill.

Let's call it the "GOP Potential Self Termination Act of 2019"

Highlights:
  • No major new environmental initiatives on the table for the net 12 years
  • Maintain status quo on current environmental regulations, no change
  • 12 years from now, if the world's climate has been significantly altered causing mass famine, disaster, or casualty to humankind, all GOP reps and senators will agree to be arrested and sent to prison for the remainder of their lives
  • additionally, the Republican Party will be abolished under federal law.

Someone tee that one up

The idea that a financing company should make the decision on lending based on anything other than ability to repay & LRR is completely insane.

So:

- If you abuse your wife in a mortgaged home, they can be sued for not determining you were abusive
- If your small business catches fire, they can be sued for not checking the wiring
- If your car hits someone, they can be sued for not determining your driving ability

List goes on and on. What a complete moron.

And that's the long con to create their 21st century caste system. They will make lending so difficult for businesses and people that only the wealthy will be able to afford to investing and upgrading opportunities. The common man and small businesses will dry up and need government assistance for life support, thus creating the never ending reliance on the government. This is how it starts.

Without watching all of her moronic questioning? What was her angle that got to Wells Fargo being responsible for caged children? Her line of "reasoning" on Wells being responsible for oil spills is at least something I can see what she's getting at.

But is Wells financing ICE detention facilities or something?

Yes. She claimed WF themselves committed human rights violations by caging children and operating for profit prisons. They stated that the 2 relationships are at the end of the terms and will not renew.

They had 2 agreements with 2 companies. 1 has ended and the 2nd one will not be renewed per the CEO. They are getting out of financing private prisons.

Banks are already being pressured via the social justice mobs of the left to not lend to anyone associated with the firearms business (stores, manufacturers, etc.).

AOC and her Congressional allies want to extend that fascism to their environmental cause as well as any other industry or area where they want full control and can't get it through legal (legislative) means.

Someone should investigate all of her political donors, even if the just donated a dollar, to be sure that she is not supported by anyone who has done anything a SJW would disapprove. Or worse, if any of her donors add evil CO2 to the atmosphere.

The angle is to test the waters of limiting access to financial institutions just like they are trying to limit access to social networks. The media and academia are essentially "no hire areas" for conservatives already.

This isn't conspiracy theory. There have been several announced attempts to do just this. Usually with gun sellers and/or manufacturers.

This is the Left we are talking about. It isn't about the guns or the prisons....it is about a monopoly on power.

This is an attempt at the American version of China's "Social Score" that basically determines whether you get full rights of citizenship or not based upon your acceptability to the state.

AOC is a blithering idiot. Like most of her party, she's tapped into this innate human desire to get as much as you possibly can for as little as possible. Sadly, most people would accept $1,000/mo for doing absolutely nothing rather than work for $2,000/mo.
