Belittling her based on being a woman (or "little girl") is stupid & counterproductive. It serves to confirm the negative stereotype of republican sexism and allows her to change the subject away from the stupidity of her politics.

Ocasio-Cortez is just 1 of 435 House Members, a 29-year old freshman New York Rep, who replaced an incumbent that was voting Dem anyways.

She has gotten a lot of media attention largely because she is the youngest Rep ever (and woman), and is popular with Millennials because she is one herself. And she is a natural at interacting on social media like most in that generation...but in terms of the actual power structure of Congress, she isn't a major player. celebrity, yes. Major player in actual legislation, no.

As Woody Harrelson said about Chigurh in No Country For Old Men, "Yeah, she's a psycopathic killer democratic socialist, but there are plenty of those around".

The more old white GOP dudes (in particular) attack her with 'little girl' comments, that only grows her popularity and name recognition IMO. The Dem incumbent she beat was also an old white guy. She eats old white guys for breakfast. Plus as mentioned she isn't really even a Democratic 'power-player' at this time, so bothering with such attacks seem doubly dumb.

In the absence of leadership fringe people can rise. Remember the left loving on CPL. and the love for other idiots?

I want her to become the face and pick up power in the Dem party. It's fun to hear her crazy ideas have other people backing them. Here is to the rise of her. May it continue.

I think she is going to get in the way of them actually getting anything done. She will throw fits and act childishly if she doesn't get her way. To get things done, you have to learn to compromise but she doesn't have the ability to compromise. She is just going to keep the pot stirred up.
