Needs to happen. So many Senators are going to end up referring to it (and spinning their own version of it), that a public release to see the true findings is better than a bunch of 2nd hand politically motivated comments/summaries via twitter

Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Thomas, Alito, and Roberts are a serious threat to gut the administrative state. The basis will likely be separation powers and that admin agencies cannot make laws, only subordinate rules tailored to clear intent articulated in the statutes.

This threatens to curtail the path to wealth so many in government follow. It was never about public policy or the public good...it was about the Senator's wallets, the power wielded by unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats and the disproprtionate influence that the MSM and lobbyists gained by becoming the path to wealth for those bureaucrats and Senators.

So, to try and preserve their path to wealth and privilege, the Dems had to hold this hill.

Anticipating the question "aren't the R's doing the same thing?".Yes, but in a different way. The R money wielders typically need/want non-action more than any particular action. Limiting what the executive can do on its own helps achieve that end.
