Schumer wants the docs because he wants to set the narrative in the MSM, before Kav or anyone else gets a chance to draw opinions objectively.

He can leak lies before the truth can be validated and thus taint the pool and public opinion.

I'm sure he would love to. As he has said his name has been ruined. Forever. The only way he can get it back even a little is to have an official report come out clearing him. And even then there will be doubt.

That doesnt change the fact that FBI reports and security clearances are not public documents.

Wyden up in Oregon already said he would be filing a lawsuit to demand all of Kavanaugh's papers and opinions so they can be reviewed.

That will be the next salvo - filing + request for an injunction against McConnell. Sure he will find just the right federal judge up in the NW to see things his way too, even though it's been settled previously by the SC.

I hope they change certain wording on every document to all 100 senators so they can trace the leak back to whichever senator leaks it.

Not necessarily. If the democrats try to partially release to score points, republicans will counter-release to clear the air. If it becomes a serial problem, someone in the Ted Cruz range of the party will just say, "eff it. Here's the whole damn thing."

Perhaps it is, BRS, but that plays to me the exact same way that "corrections" play out in MSM stories. Initial damage is done, cleanup is never heard.
