Flake is such a spineless coward it wouldn't surprise me if he was playing to the crowd. The Atlantic is also reporting on this and had this at the end of their article.

Quote:

I caught up with Flake briefly as he left the event, and asked if this meant he would not vote to confirm Kavanaugh, even if the FBI cleared him by week's end. He appeared rattled, and his handlers rushed him into the stairwell. "I didn't say that " he stammered. "I wasn't referring to him."
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/10/jeff-flake-criticizes-supreme-court-nominee-kavanaugh/571915/

I think if he really starts moving the goal posts like this behind the scenes Lindsey Graham might legit punch him.

Odds are currently 65% that Kavanaugh gets in via predictit.org

At this point I kinda want Flake to Flake out and the vote to go 50-50 and Pence break the tie.

the screaming about another stolen seat would never end with the stolen VP chair deciding it and yet the drive to impeach Trump would only result in a worse nightmare of Pence in the WH.

bwahhahahahahaha

I've come to the conclusion that even Flake doesn't know what he is doing right now. I believe he got punked by the three women yelling at him in elevator. He basically wet his pants and caved to the Democrats. He probably quickly realized, upon caving, that he might go down in history as the biggest ***** ever elected to the Senate. Now he is desperately trying to figure a way out of the mess he created. Does he side with the Republicans and salvage, barely salvage, what is left of his already damaged reputation in the GOP? Or does he vote no with the Democrats and be the hero of the left knowing they will discard him like yesterdays trash in short order?

Either way Flake will no longer be a serious player in politics going forward. He'll get the occasional gig as a talking head/pundit type but he'll know full well that each side sees him for what he is...a joke.

Why must someone feel compelled to "bet" after stating an opinion? I never understood that logic. People are free to disagree.

People state their opinions as facts when they're not facts.

If someone states with 100 percent certainty that something will happen, why wouldn't they bet on it? I would bet as much as I could on anything that was 100 percent certain to happy.

Lol.

I'm up a lot of money on TexAgs bets. A lot. Mainly from 2016 election. Glad some do actually bet.

Still amazing to me that posters don't know the difference between an opinion and a fact.

There are many people who do not know the difference between an opinion and a fact. You may be one of them. I am not one of them.

Also, not that it's anybody on this thread's business, I have made some promises to people very important to me that I will never "bet" and I intend to keep my word.

Betting to prove your commitment to your opinion is different than trying to beat the odds in order to make money in an addictive way.

If I was 100 PERCENT sure something was going to happen, I would give you any odds you wanted.

Again, posters state their opinions as facts. Always been the case.

While that statement may be true in some ways, I personally feel no need to prove anything to anyone reading this.

But, this thread is entertaining to me.

I hope Trump decides to hold a nationwide prime time press conference when the FBI concludes their investigation and then turns it over to Grassley or Mitch to disclose their findings. Air it all out. Want to put pressure on Flake and the other R's who aren't sure? Show American how much of a sham this is.

Yep, they wanted to publicly destroy Kavanaugh, then hide the report that shows there is zero evidence so they can continue to lie about it. It's gonna be public.

Not sure if there is anything there, but Fords "lifelong friend" Keyser was a pro golfer and the Georgetown U women's golf coach before her health issues (I think I read it has something to do with a neck injury). Keyser was also previously married to Fox's Bob Beckel (maybe not significant).

Joe DiGenova made several comments about Ford's possible "connection" with PGA golfers and it not being good for her if they were to talk.

Interesting.
So a neck injury has clouded her memory of events. Seems legit

Wait. She leaked this woman's letter to the media against her wishes and gets her buddies on the SJC to demand an FBI investigation, but now doesn't want the results of that investigation to be made public?

She must be joking.

As long as that Hippocampus is still functioning she should still be able to remember every traumatic event! That's what I learned from Dr. Ford, what a brave smart woman

Only the parts that are "indelible in the Hippocampus", like how wide the hallway was, where the bed was and that you only drank a single beer. Not stuff like when the party was, where it was, what year it was, how you got there, or how you got home.
