Totally concur. Nothing gained by going in for kill shot questions. You can still stick it to the libs though. All the Republicans should be sickly sweet and polite. Start each question with, "Thank you for coming today. This is so very brave of you...".

I think each member is allotted 5 minutes for questioning the witness. Some/perhaps all will give their time to a more skilled member. I think the optics of this hearing will actually favor the GOP. No Dem senator will actually challenge Ford, yet they will treat Kavanaugh like dirt. Contrast that with the GOP who will defer most of their time to an expert.
