I'm at the point now where I think they should just push him through and confirm him. What happens at the hearings won't change how Kavanaugh is treated by the media and the Democrats. I have to believe that Grassley has some reason to be allowing this to drag on and on like this, but I'll be darned if I can decipher what it is. Is Flake or Collins telling him they will defect unless he backs down on every deadline when she demands, or is something else going on here? This has long past getting rediculous. It's beginning to seem like Ford and her attorneys are running the Senate Judiciary Committee, not Grassley.

Nope, but they pulled the scheduled vote from the committee calendar.

I think it's Grassley controlling the narrative the best way possible over the weekend. If he says right now, "the vote is on Monday since the deadline came and went", media and Dems have a field day all weekend. She could pop up on a news show before the vote or she could send a message tomorrow saying she's ready to testify Thursday but it's past the deadline so now those mean old men won't let me.

Giving her 24 more hours limits the media circus while coming across as cooperative and being somewhat compassionate to her " victim" status.

In short, nothing has changed. She accepts in her self defined period of 24 more hours or vote happens Monday.

Don't see a problem here.

This seem reasonable. I must admit that when I initially read he had given another extension I had a slight PTSD moment. If this is an attempt to control the narrative over the weekend then the extension isn't a big deal.

She's not being bullied. She allowed a story to sit even after a couple of months where she took it to a Democrat politician on the Senate Judiciary Committee and they all waited until the week before this vote, going to the media instead of the authorities.

She's made an accusation against a presumed innocent man, and now doesn't have the authority to dictate how and when they will address this accusation. If she's not ready to testify, either she doesn't have her story straight or is having second thoughts knowing she made up a lie and is being used by the left to destroy a good man's name, life and career.

If he tried to grab her boob outside of a shirt as teenagers and she's still so scarred she can barely function (other than being able to move forward and get her PhD), then she needs psychiatric treatment and needs to get her life together and stop holding this natuon back.

Oh I don't know. Everybody knew Anita Hill was lying, and nobody labels Clarence Thomas that way.

I was pissed when first seeing Grassly cave but the way he tells Kavanaugh he wants to hear her makes me hope - they have something on her that they want to confront with her in public so that it makes her and the left look like fools and removes the smear Kavanaugh will no doubt have to deal with his entire time in SC. That would be beautiful.

Looks like the Repubs continue to slip into the Dem's trap. Each passing day that this circus is allowed to continue equates to less and less support for Kavanaugh. Squishy RINOs are going to see that the safest and easiest route will be to abandon Kavanaugh. The Senate Democrats on the bubble who might have voted for Kavanaugh out of necessity are being provided enough of a smoke screen to reconsider the necessity of that.

All that anyone needs to remember about this is that the Dems have been sitting on this since July, if not before. Not enough time my a_ _.

Edit: I hope that Big Al above me is correct and the delay is all part of a calculated strategy, but given past Repub performance I doubt it.
