Nothing he said was out of line. People are afraid to state the obvious. Nothing happened (even if it was actually tried). It was not bad enough that she reported it to authorities. Kavanaugh has made his way up the ranks as a circuit court judge, yet it wasn't bad enough for her to bring it up then...only now that he is a SCOTUS candidate.

People are too afraid to call out the obvious BS in this whole story.

Well, that's enough. Time to figure out who I will support in 2020. I know there are plenty of men are thinking the same thing, but there was no need to vilify Ford here. I believe something substantial and traumatic happened to her around the stated time frame (whether the reported event or something else) and it's tyrannical to use the bully pulpit in an attack like Trump's.
Are you kidding me? This woman is holding the Supreme Court hostage over an alleged boob grabbing incident that is 36 years old, and you're mad that the guy who nominated the person who's being smeared in the public square told her to fess up?

There's zero evidence that anything happened. People invent memories all the time. I referenced the Johnny Carson/Zsa Zsa Gabor "move that damn cat" fake memory before. Others mentioned the McMartin Preschool. Three people who she claimed were there have denied it under oath.

The timing and alleged event are simply too perfect to have been real.

In the spirit of the President's tweets, didn't he just dare Ford and her attorneys to contact the appropriate police department and DA's office in the county in Maryland where the alleged incident occurred and file a formal, criminal complaint?

To me, that seems like the logical next step for them...
They likely already did that.

The liberal twitter army was calling for the Maryland AG to file charges or at least investigate Kavanaugh.
No. Neither she, nor her lawyers have requested a state investigation. They are all in on the FBI doing it.

Except that she's in hiding and avoiding talking to the FBI even if they had jurisdiction. Why they think an on record interview with the FBI would not be stressful to her, I don't know. She's still in legal jeopardy.

Nothing she and her lawyers have done to this point make much logical sense, particularly from a legal standpoint.
Which is further evidence that neither her attorneys or the dems care at all about "truth" and instead are all in to delay this vote until after the mid-terms.

So BEFORE this all started with Kavanaugh/Ford, you will supporting Trump? Correct?

Before Trump's unnecessary bullying tweet, I was planning to vote for him in 2020.
So, that's a no. You're going to let him calling for facts to be presented be the reason not to vote for him and ignore the thriving economy and low unemployment? #itsallaboutmyfeelz

Upon what evidence do you believe "something substantial and traumatic happened to her"?

Are you a parent? Have you never seen a 15 year old utterly lose her **** and stomp around the house wailing in pain because you didn't let her go to the weekend tubing trip with her unchaperoned friends? And then watch her spend the next month seething in anger at how you ruined her life? Teenagers are highly unreliable at either facts or at regulating the emotional scale of consequences. And adults who've had half a century to edit and rehearse their self-told version of their teenage memories are extremely unreliable.

Have you personally talked to Ford? Have you evaluated her state of mind and testimony to determine its credibility?

What is your standard of proof before you'll believe things?

For every person believing her because "she wouldn't lie about something like this and expose herself to the backlash", there are a bunch more looking at her actions that scream that she is trying desperately to get away from this story. If she had real factual proof or was genuine in ensuring Kavanaugh didn't ascend to the SCOTUS, she'd be out there singing like a canary, taking Congress up on their offer to testify, etc.

This has all the earmarks of a woman making up a story, her being manipulated by political operators to use it to obfuscate a nomination, and then having the "oh ****, I can't believe where this has gone" moment wishing like hell she'd never done it.

Which is idiotic in and of itself. The Anita Hill FBI investigation took three days, not weeks, not months, three days. And she was making multiple accusations of events occurring over a matter of years, not one single event.

BTW, there is an FBI office in Palo Alto where she lives. She could have called them at any time since Kavanaugh was first nominated on July 9th. They could have then had their counterparts in Maryland try to track down classmates and contemporaries of hers to get witness statements. (As was done with Anita Hill.) Then those would have been added to the highly confidential background file provided to the White House and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

That's the procedure. But that would have entailed giving Kavanaugh a head's up instead of a last second ambush.

I wonder how many millions of people, now that this is gaining wall-to-wall attention in the media, are like "well, I've heard a little about this accusation but now that the media is running with it non-stop I suppose I should look into it a bit more."

Does a few minutes of research...

Wait, what...this was a boob grab from 36 years ago between two high school teenagers and she can't remember where or when it exactly happened. Oh FFS - commence atomic eye roll.

Yup, Democrats, this what the bulk of the country is doing right now. I'm sure you're ecstatic with all the fringe left virtue signalling and faux outrage but believe me, the majority of the country are collectively eye rolling this absolute nothing burger with a side of crazy fries.

Yep. When this first came out, I thought it was a sham, but they were saying she was willing to testify. Because of that, I thought that there may be something there...still thinking it was a sham but willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. When the republicans gave her time to testify and offered for it to be private and the dems began crawfishing, I knew it was nothing more than a political move that blew up in their faces like a goodbye hug from Stormy Daniels.

No, I'm going to let the fact that he's using the failure to file a police report as conslusive evidence no assault or abuse occurred affect my decision.

If you actually care, look at my posts on Title IX investigations. Due process and fairness are important, but Trump's tweet this morning struck me as unnecessarily mean spirited. Add that to his apparent mysoginy and I'm not sure he's trustworthy in a second term where even public opinion (the vote) becomes irrelevant to him.

He's asking for the facts to be presented, which is something her and her attorney seem to be not wanting to do. Why do you think that is? Why do you think they've made a list of absurd demands for her to testify? We're going on almost a week of this and we know as much now as we did when it started...it happened a long time ago and she's fuzzy on the details. Do you know who you should really feel bad for? Real victims of sexual abuse. This is an obvious political witch hunt and it does nothing to help those who have been abused. But the libs have a history of this type of crap...just google the Columbia mattress girl, the Amherst case, etc. Use sexual assault/rape to ruin lives when they don't get their way.

His apparent mysoginy? You were OK with it enough before this tweet to think about voting for him, but this is the line in the sand to you? Give me a break. Trump has a ton of faults, but the one thing that we can all agree upon is that he believes in equal opportunity when making remarks about somebody. He doesn't care if they're liberal or conservative, male or female, white or black or Asian or whatever. He says what people are afraid of saying and it's a breath of fresh air for the American people who see what's acceptable get smaller and smaller everyday.
