Letter says ~no crime committed...unless passing through a locked door is witchery. Both<18 and, contact description sayd nothing sexual, no sexual act. Know why Dems are not claiming actual crime. Kavanaugh locked the door from the inside, his buddy turned-up the music and "egged him on". If no one at the party recalls this, that is because they were locked outside and could not hear over the music. Oh, and by the way, he covered her mouth.

He was so drunk he couldn't successfully get her clothing off. She had a swimsuit on underneath (why is this detail important?).

Buddy piles on the bed, they all tumble off, and she escapes to a bathroom.

Built in to her accusation are all of the reasons no one can corroborate her story. To be clear, the notion that a drunk 17 yr old male would have pushed himself onto a girl is easily believed. But are we really going to spend weeks to months "investigating" an accusation that cannot be verified 35 years after the fact (if there was fact at all)?

At this point it is two words against one, with the one claiming the other two were drunk and uncontrollable teenagers 35 years ago.

25 years of legal experience, and this is the best they can come up with? And then they sit on the accusation for six weeks.

i haven't read all 12 pages of this thread. but two things i hate:

1 - that in this day and age any accusation of sexual assault/rape/impropriety is met with an onslaught of attack and picking apart/marginalizing of the accuser's story. because this just hurts those in the future who have real stories to share and will make them more reluctant to do so, which makes it harder to punish the real creeps.

2 - that our culture has turned into one of mob justice. share an event, story, or even a f-ing tweet of something years prior in order to direct the mob.

i have grown tired of the endless digging through the past of seemingly everyone to find something to be outraged about.

i don't think society has figured out how to properly deal with the things we find in people's pasts. sometimes they may be worth being outraged about.

Grand Juries do whatever the DA tells them to 99.9% of the time. You should not ever lay your hopes for fair and reasonable treatment by the System at the feet of a Grand Jury.
