The irony. After they've done everything in their power to jail Trump and many of his team.

This is still the best politics forum thread of all time. One of the best all time on this entire platform.

Truly amazing gathering of information on the Russian hoax and one of the best displays of just how dangerous our federal government has become.

The fact that Democrats are using this SCOTUS decision to create fear among the American voters about the weaponization of the office of President against political opponents and the administrative state is truly peak gaslighting.

The fact they got away with all of this and now get to create another CIA type regime change propaganda campaign against Trump is some very scary stuff for our Constitutional Republic.

The subject of this thread and what it says about our federal government is the only reason I switched from being a critic of Trump that didn't vote for any candidate in 2016 to being a Trump voter in 2020 and now again in 2024.

And a lot of the work done on the election day thread is slowly being vindicated, as well as the Georgia case against Trump is falling apart at the seams.

This is a bit of a sidebar, but to me (as well as Ramaswamy and Kirk), the only way to really "cleanse" the system is for Trump to fire about 30% of everyone in each agency.

I started a thread about this two weeks ago. It's ridiculously wishful thinking at this point, but an ideal time if Trump were to win. I'm very aware of the civil laws in force to protect workers and how difficult it would be, but Ramaswamy has some excellent ideas how to work around the laws legally.

Since Trump would be a lame duck president and 50% of the nation viscerally hates him, whatever he does is going to be severely criticized. Even yesterday, we have a SCOTUS justice using the word "treason" which has absolutely ZERO to do with the case she was speaking about, and wasn't even the proper definition of the word.

All she did was enhance the hatred the communists have for Trump. This stuff happens 2-3 times a week. I'll still be shocked if #1, he gets elected, and #2, he makes it alive to the inauguration. There's little to suggest anyone would be indicted. If so, the planners would most certainly NOT be named in an investigation.

If anyone wanted to hear Ramaswamy's message, let me know, but he's a good interview. Something like my message above will HAVE happen. Maybe Trump could fire everyone with a SS # ending in 9, or something like that. It's indiscriminate and unfair, but something has to happen. The number of investigations will take too long (2 years minimum) and there would have to be about 7-8, one on each agency. The proper AG would be the key.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled legal discussion. My apologies.

Oh, and wonk98, you're correct. I've loved this thread since the beginning. The amount of legal knowledge I've gained has stretched my little Aggie mind to it's limits, but it's been worth it.
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.

In many ways the Mueller special counsel was a predecessor to the Biden administration itself. It involved subterfuge with a demented figure head, using the legal system toward a political prosecution with the goal to empower the intelligence complex.

Yes, nominally the NSC/FBI's goal was clearly to use Russian disinformation/lies from the HRC campaign to handicap the Trump administration (mission accomplished), but the underlying goals and methodology are the same as has been carried out via Jack Smith/Merchan/Garland etc. through to today.

And make no mistake, the true believers will not let go and have full epistemic closure as to the orthodoxy of their beliefs:

Oh btw, the love birds got paid by the FBI/all of us tax payers in June for their rights being violated.

Never, ever vote for a Democrat. Missouri v. Biden may have been dismissed for standing, but the cause of freedom of speech/accountability in our government as manifested in this thread/discussion/Mueller scandals will live on.

He should expose the coup attempt in full and hold all those responsible to account as the traitors they are to this nation.

I don't have much faith he will do that. He seems to believe retribution is wrong, no matter how right and necessary it is in some cases.

At minimum, those agencies responsible should take a considerable budgetary cut with extreme focus on the NCR and SES/Supervisory GS-level operators.

A good portion of this second term should focus on addressing the issue of an unelected, unaccountable bureaucracy behaving as if it is above the law in every respect.

We need Civil Service Reform granting the President more power to get rid of Executive Branch employees he either does not need or has no faith in.

I'm well past the point of caring who this catches and where their political loyalties lie.

I'm not surprised a bottom-feeder like McCain was involved with this garbage. He wasn't the only one. It would not surprise me at all to see people like Burr, Corker, and Ryan somehow involved with this as well.

For Obama and his shadow state to get away with this, Republicans had to look the other way. Some of them, like McCain, did even more.

As it was four years ago, never was a quote more applicable to our current situation than the words Theodore Roosevelt spoke over a 100 years ago regarding the "invisible government."

This is the war that must be fought by Trump or he will only face a repeat of his first term. Worse will be done to future Republican leaders.

I want to reiterate for posterity that Garland and the "Biden" administration today just settled/approved paying Peter Strzok $1.2 million dollars, and probably a similar amount to his lovebird.

This is not old news. This is right now, and the FBI is oh by the way asking to interview Trump apparently to provide a 'victim statement.' Peter is now the co-host I think of the "Cleanup on aisle 45" podcast.

This thread is as relevant and current as ever.

I haven't read this yet, but I'm sure it's relatively amusing, at least based on Raffensberger's actions.

He'd have made a hell of a good Democrat. I know next to nothing about his actions while in office, except for the election of 2020 and 2022, but I can't imagine that man ever performing a task that wasn't politically related or inspired.

What's kinda funny to me is it's apparently a PBS website. I guess anything to make them feel confident of "fair" elections.
