I'm not sure if it's been discussed before in this thread, but what are the odds that Durham already has these emails?

My guess is it is very likely since there are multiple people copied on them. But admissibility issues may remain so he wants them from the original sources.

I think it's been mentioned a few times but it's highly likely that Durham has these documents, given to him by Ratcliffe and/or Grenell prior to them leaving office.

Exactly, my guess is Ratcliffe Patel already got them to him, but as you said, admissibility is a question based on how they were acquired and the privilege argument has to be resolved first. If the Judge compels them to be produced from Perkins Coie then it's game on...

Every government contract has a contracting officer (KO) and almost always a designated Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). If the statement of work for the ONA contract with Halper or the DARPA contract with GTRI were broad and vague in their language then the contract COR would have provided the specific directions. Nobody except the KO or the COR can direct the actions of a contractor if they are not explicitly spelled out in the Statement of Work (SOW) or Performance Work Statement (PWS). It would be useful for Durham's team to subpoena the CORs on these contracts and compel them to testify about the directions and taskings assigned.

I used to think it was just the military leading the way in acronyms, but now realize any government operation will end up in a nick-nack-paddy-wack sort of spelling.

KO, COR, ONA, DARPA, PWS, SOW, etc..

Government work has got the best pension in the world, but lord, the reading is terrific for insomnia.

From the federalist article above:

"The then-unidentified government contract originated with DARPA, with DARPA eventually awarding Georgia Tech more than $17 million for the project dubbed "Rhamnousia," after the mythical Greek goddess of divine retribution, Rhamnous."

I found this name odd for DARPAs role. I wonder if the retribution was targeted against the Russians or Trump?

To add to that a definition that I saw says, "the goddess who enacts retribution against those who succumb to hubris, arrogance before the gods".

Another name was Nemesis.

I'd say in reference to trump and his threat to the gov status quo.

speaking of hubris...the gall to think you're so right in your actions that you name your special project after that particular god/goddess

How would he know they even exist absent having copies?

Ratcliffe, Grenell, Patel when certain things were being declassified is my assumption.
