I'm assuming the political organization is the DNC and hoping the law firm is Perkins Coie

I'd put the chances at about 99.99% for both.

I'm assuming Biden and the dems can squash this investigation and bury it anytime they want. Is this not correct?

Yes. Biden can fire Durham as Special Counsel. Just like Nixon did to Archibald Cox.

Yes, but imagine how the press will destroy him for shutting down a special counsel . . . Never mind, this time it's (D)ifferent.

Biden wouldn't have to. Garland would do it if the WaPo so much as writes an editorial suggesting he should.

Wonder why this hasnt been shut down is the real question? is there a possibility that if its shut down someone releases the kill switch on who knows what? I just cant understand how the Dems have let this play out this far?

They are just waiting for Durham to pass away from "natural causes" with two completely unrelated bullet holes in his head.

Barr pre-emptively made him Special Counsel to make it harder to fire him. As just a US Attorney, Biden would have fired Durham immediately upon taking office.

Garland was asked about this during his confirmation hearings. Said he would not fire him.

They are letting it continue because they are not the slight bit worried about it. Do you really think Klain would let this go on if there was any chance it could be harmful the DemocRats?

…at that time, as a nominee. Didn't say he would never fire him if the costs/time of his work took too long etc.

He now has the unquestioned authority to fire him, any given minute. He has only said there would be no 'political or undue influence' as to how/if Durham is allowed to proceed, more recently, while also defending a notably leftist DoJ Atty's comments about it.

That is DC speak for 'oh, I haven't fired him, as of this moment.'

I agree but my point was more that Garland wouldn't want to take the heat alone. He'd want Biden's order or permission.

I doubt Garland will ever touch Durham's case, the result would be radioactive.

They pumped millions into Mueller's investigation which did little except be a thorn in Trump's side and a handful of 1001 charges.

Durham isn't near as expensive he's using Federal employees already drawing salaries, Mueller's team was all outside contractors drawing huge fees.

When the left is ready to 86 Biden, the handlers will have Joe go after Durham and that will be his demise.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because hard men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

It's not a dream as much as documenting history now.

Forget the National Archives, future historians will figure out how to access this stuff, at some point.

The future historians won't be like Ken Burns reading letters from the time of the Civil War, they will be reading this type of stuff. Not to say I have made my small contribution to history here but 50 years from now?

    Who the hell knows?

Hopefully all this documentation is very securely held and copies in multiple secure locations.

There is the unsavory chance Durham is just cataloging the exoneration evidence.

This bs has gone on too long without anyone being held accountable.
