Cabin fever curiosity...but given everything that has been reported, documented, etc...WHY haven't there been more indictments? Are the guilty so smart and justice over matched? Is everyone simply waiting for Statue of Limitations to expire and consequences ignored?

Any/all educated responses welcome. TIA!

Wow!

So, according to everything I've heard and read about Sentinel, every single time someone uses the system, there's a "finger print". Like most here, I'm just a little jaded, and expect passwords other than an FBI agent/Mueller attorney to have been used to gain access to Sentinel.

If that's the case, there should be a fairly easy resolution by finding who opened they system, unless there's a situation like Samantha Power's "what me? I didn't unmask nobody. I'm innocent".
That certainly is my understanding of how Sentinel works. Most software have a similar tracking function, especially accounting software.

The advent of massive document control software for lawyers' use came into being after I was winding down actively practicing but the early versions I saw had the same function so one could track where documents were located at any point in time.

But back when Sara first reported large part of the Page Woods file went "missing" and were "recreated" by Team Mueller I opined that there never was a truly proper Woods file prepared for the original application for the Title I FISA warrant. The completely out of protocol handling of that file were superiors signed off on it before their subordinates even saw it reinforces that.

Side note: Sally Yates, Boente and Rosenstein have some 'splainin' to do.

Covid shut down courtrooms but more importantly, shut down grand juries for the last five months or more. They are just now beginning to reconvene. And of course there is a huge backlog they now have to get through.

Such bad timing for the good guys.

The criminals running Crossfire Hurricane moved their criminal enterprise to the SCO. Nothing could be done until they were finished. It's only been 18 months or so since they finished.

Be careful what you wish for, as I'm hardly wise, but I do have some thoughts.

Since Durham hasn't interviewed Biden, Chalupa, Jarrett (I guarantee you she's involved), Obama, or either Cinton, you can expect all people except those folks to be written about very harshly and even indicted.

I still think they're trying to figure out what charges to bring, whether it be conspiracy, RICO, process crimes, etc. The good thing about the conspiracy/RICO charges is they can get many folks with a single indictment. So, I DO expect it to happen, in lieu of a few posters here. I also said I believe they'll indict Biden, but I think it will be after the election, no matter who wins, which I believe the Dems know.

I'm sitting here blowing off steam watching the Kentucky Derby. If I want to watch, or read, politics, I know exactly where to go. I don't want to F'N see it on Derby Day. As long as those NBC *******s are busy lionizing people, they can lionize the STL 29 year old BLACK cop who was murdered last week and had 3 children, but I haven't heard about that.

********s!

Thanks for that addition since it worked in conjunction with the covid shut down and exacerbated the situation.

As the scope of this investigation and criminality discovered by Durham gets larger and larger and involve more and more big fish, Barr will be very careful to take the required time to obtain solid proof, knowing that these sleazbags will be represented by the best and brightest slymeball lawyers in the country. If Trump gets re- elected, holy hell will break loose probably late next year. If it's Biden, the Deep State will construct so many road blocks that Durham's investigation will wither on the vine !

Otherwise, I could wipe out a thesaurus with new synonyms! I really, really, dislike that SOB. It's little wonder he's a Dem, except they're are so many like him.

I honestly can't believe there was NEVER a Woods file. Welp, it should certainly help Page's coming lawsuit. He may have to give some to Flynn.

Never. Methinks you underestimate the creativity, or should I say deceitfulness, of the liberals on the DC Circuit. The only controlling legal principle to the left is that Trump, his people, and any other conservative should always lose.

Remember, these are the same folks that believe that the actual words of the Constitution are essentially meaningless, if not outright racist, and should be ignored whenever they become impediments to the "noble" goals of the left. If they can so easily disregard the Constitution, what is a mere precedent, rule or statute to them?
I meant they can't hide behind a procedural issue and would have to do some real damage to Srinivasan's Fokker opinion.
Honest question, do you think precedent, or stare decisis mean anything at all to the Obama judges in political cases as here?

On the 1st, 4 are Obama judges, 3 are Clinton; that's a clear majority (Henderson is retiring/out and won't hear any new appeals, as well). Srinivasan (and Garland, in truth) is obviously the adult in the room, but I can't at this point view the circuit as having any integrity.
Srinivasan is currently the Chief Judge on the DC Circuit. Fokker is a 2016 decision that he authored. Is he prepared to wreak havoc on his own reasoning and legal ruling? Maybe. Then again explaining how wrong you were isn't a pleasant task for an appellate judge, either.

And not just a little wrong but very much wrong. Either then, or now. It's going to create a nice conundrum for future cases.

If Biden is wins and Barr doesn't come out and say what he knows, he's complicit in it.

I'm sorry, but this "we didn't have enough time and Biden won" is it going to cut it.

Gowdy doesn't think anyone other than Clinesmith willl be indicted by Durham. Sadly, he's probably right.

It's very frustrating that a special counsel investigation can be used so plainly and effectively as a political coverup and most of the press feigns no interest in it.

The real lie here? There was never a true Woods Procedure file to start with. That's my take. Carter Page's original FISA application was completely out of the normal chain of command and process. It was handled by a very small cadre of fellow travelers, cutting other people out of the process. People like Trisha Anderson received her portion with the signatures already done. In her normal capacity, she would review and then raise it to the higher levels for their signatures. If they were already signed and approved, there was little for her to do.

(FTR: Not defending Trisha here. She should have vocally raised the issue and sounded the alarm instead of acquiescing to her bosses silently.)
I said there wasn't a true Woods file done for the original application a week ago. Generally, I love being right but I am getting a little tired of being right about bad acts.

I agree and there must be something I'm missing because it's beyond ludicrous no charges have been filed, no interviews with Valerie, Rice, Obama, or for that matter Mueller/Weisman. It's too late for any of them to be indicted prior to Nov. at this point.

I'm leaning at this time toward seeing the DoJ as just as corrupt as the FBI. The US Attorney's playing racial politics with their sham race card letter just makes it all the more obvious (note; this is the group Durham would likely have to lean on/use for indictments).

Quote:

In the end, 32 Black federal prosecutors in Washington signed a 10-page memo to acting U.S. attorney Michael Sherwin outlining changes they say will help ensure that prosecutors make the fairest decisions, void of nonlegal influences and biases.

They called for implicit bias training for prosecutors and the end of a strategy for gun-crime prosecutions they said disproportionately targets Black communities. They also called for a new focus on alternatives to incarceration.

They said the job of a prosecutor should not be confined to an office or courtroom. Prosecutors, they said, should develop relationships in the communities they serve, attending meetings and events. And prosecutors should be required to visit the city's jail to better understand the impact on those who are locked up.

The memo offers an unprecedented glimpse into the growing angst among prosecutors within the nation's largest U.S. attorney's office, the only such office that handles both local crimes including homicides, drug cases and sexual assaults and federal crimes including national security and public corruption cases.

The proposals, the prosecutors wrote, would lead to better decisions in prosecuting cases and help secure trust and bring more just outcomes in a city where they said the majority of victims, suspects and witnesses are Black.
Basically, federal prosecutors want to make race overtly a factor in decisions as to whether to press charges/seek indictments.

Pathetic.

It isn't just frustrating to me, it scares me. What is the end goal of the people responsible for supressing the truth? I just can't fathom how news media don't have interest in what should be known as the biggest political scandal of all time. Corrupt politicians and bureaucrats have always existed and like weeds, more will spring up after these few have been uprooted. The real story here is how most of our major news networks have burried their head in the sand throughout this ordeal. The depth of this apathy is why I think a foreign government has to be pulling the strings. This is too big to be the workings a corrupt political party.

Well, sure, I'd like to see that happen, by sun down, but the biggest issue to me is that they have been hired/work in an environment (the largest US Attorney's office team in the country) that has given them confidence to publicly make/sign on to such an absurd document.

It's not just those 32 individuals, it's the institution, which I find absolutely tragic.

Have to wonder how many of those federal prosecutors were hired under Holder or Lynch? And you are correct that a federal prosecutor being fearless enough to openly advocate for using federal law to openly discriminate against people because of race (violation of law) is very distressing.

The racial divide is worse than it has been since my early youth. The Hubs and I went through desegregation and the violence attendant thereto and believed that great strides in race relations have been made until now. A version of Animal Farm that has played out over decades, it would appear.

BTW, he lied in that interview.

Quote:

Fired FBI special agent Peter Strzok's latest claims about the events leading to the bureau's opening of the Trump-Russia investigation are contradicted by the timelines presented in reports by special counsel Robert Mueller and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

In a new interview ahead of the release of his book, Strzok claimed that Australian diplomat Alexander Downer was spurred to inform the U.S. government about a May 2016 conversation he had in a London wine bar with George Papadopoulos, in which the Trump campaign associate mentioned that Russia might have dirt on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, after hearing Donald Trump's controversial July 2016 comment: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing." But Mueller and Horowitz concluded that Australia informed the United States of this conversation on July 26, 2016, which is one day before Trump's press conference comments about Russia.

"Papadopoulos told them that somebody on the Trump campaign had received an offer that said the Russians had material that would be damaging to Hillary Clinton and to Obama, and they offered to coordinate the release of that information in a way that would help the Trump campaign," Strzok told CBS's Sunday Morning.

"The Australians didn't make much of it until Trump made this appeal about Hillary Clinton's emails," CBS News national security correspondent David Martin said, adding, "Those Australian diplomats heard that and contacted the FBI."

Hey, hey, hey, enough of that crap, except for the fact that y'all are the experts in this field, and that does concern me. I'm just whining because I don't want to end up being like Ben Kenobe in the first Star Wars---watching as the empire swallows the world.

I'm going to pin my hopes on some of y'alls earlier comments about the extreme difficulty of calling grand juries due to Covid, and other delaying features. Now, I can understand Durham not interviewing Obama, Jarrett, and Clinton from August 1st until after the election, due to political interference from the election, which includes all kinds of racial news. Trump DOES have a significant amount of the black vote, and interviewing Obama would cause the CEO's of Twitter, FB, and Google to completely shut down the American news system--only kidding, kind of.

Here's what I hear y'all saying, Barr/Durham both will reject their oaths of office in order to satisfy the current climate in our country, and there's nothing in their past to suggest they'll do that. I'm not saying it won't happen, but if these two have jumped ship, then we really are sunk.
