I guess I should have clarified. Make him acting, just like DNI. Move him to the hot spots to clean things up. There'd be no more "it embarrasses the FBI" redactions.

Just keep Grennel in a position of power. He's already in the DNI hall of fame for his written beat down of Schiff. Maybe if he stays in power, someone might be able to video Grennel pushing Schiff down the Capitol steps.

From my perspective, the primary criteria for anyone to head a bureaucracy is immunity (through character and force of will) to capture.

They need to understand they are not there to represent the best interest of the employees of the bureaucracy but to represent the best interests of the American people and carry out the policies of the president.

Two things. Appointments as "Acting" are time limited to 270 days, first off.

Second, there is a succession scheme that applies to DOJ and by extension to the FBI in the event of a vacancy. When Wray is fired, they will promote from within for the Acting Director pending Trump's nomination and confirmation of a successor Director.

Granted, there was supposed to be a succession plan in the ODNI, too but that position isn't as high profile as Director of the FBI and I think Barr might balk at that.

So I am back to the issue of whether he could be confirmed without a legal or law enforcement background.

I'll be a little more specific than Miss Hawg. When the charges turned to the documents they helped Flynn file, they did just about everything wrong. They were able to cover that up until Powell took over.

Apparently Covington is known as a de facto Justice Dept. They were not going to help Flynn the way it was needed.

So, it was all a sham?

Color me shocked

If Trump wants people to see what actually happened to Flynn, he needs to pardon him immediately. Force the media to cover it.
