Clinton associate that was the pull portion of a "push / pull" operation. Seems pretty simple. It always amazes me how stuff comes around a second or even a third time like its new info.
Not when I'm done with it.

No doubt that is the rule, but the practice in the Russia, Russia, Russia saga has been to hide embarrassing material. It is no longer surprising.

Here's more on the Downer issue. It's very clear what he did regarding his meeting with Papadopoulos was an independent action without the knowledge or approval of the Australian government, which means this was not FVEY related. But let's look outside the box. Downer was a former board director at Hakluyt, the secretive private intel group. Hakluyt (& Downer) has potent connections with the Clintons -- there is a prominent Clinton fundraiser who is also a board director at Hakluyt, Louis Susman. There are multiple former MI6 individuals who are also board directors at Hakluyt. Halper has connections to Hakluyt. Oh, and let's see, where did Christopher Steele formerly work...MI6. Here's a good reference:

2 minute video. Nunes says 2 things near the end that don't compute. First, he mentions just finding out that Russians offered Papadopoulos money, & then he said there are 3 Russian Americans he wants to learn more about. Well, Sergei Millian offered Papa a $30,000/month job, but we knew that back in 2018 -- Papa even revealed it in his Congressional testimony -- so it can't be that (Millian was born in Belarus, not Russia anyway). So what money can this be? The $10,000 he received from the Israeli businessman Tawil is the only other money I know about.

Quote:

...Halper, a former Cambridge professor, rattled off the names of the Russians, Vyacheslav Trubnikov, Leonid Shebarshin, and Yuri Traughtoff, according to a transcript of the secretly recorded conversation released on Thursday.

Halper was not bluffing about his friendship with at least one of the ex-Russian spies. He has collaborated with Trubnikov, the former head of Russia's foreign intelligence service, the SVR. Halper hosted Trubnikov at two intelligence seminars at Cambridge in 2012 and 2015, and interviewed the former Kremlin insider for a 2015 study on China-Russia relations he did for the Pentagon's Office of Net Assessment (ONA)....

If you remember, Steele pitched Trubnikov as one of his sources to Kavalec during his visit to the State Department. Methinks Steele & Halper were best buds, & that Halper was one of Steele's sources.

Here's a link to the transcript of Halper-Papadopoulos conversation:

That $10k is the money. It's the money the feds expected Papa to have on him when they arrested him at the airport. The sum is important because it would have been a violation of federal law to bring that money in undeclared.

Please NO. There is no need to change the title of this thread. I, like many, have been following this thread for a very long time and we all know where to find it on page one. Plus the title is a nice reminder of how far back this goes.

Thread: Why wasn't Michael Caputo on the initial list of individuals the Crossfire Hurricane Team selected for counterintelligence investigations? He should have been the most obvious target to select -- read the thread -- but he had departed the Trump Campaign in June...meaning the CH Team was only interested in spying on the Trump Campaign, not in whether there was collusion with Russia.

The final take-away from the newly declassified portion of the FISA applications reveals just how tone-deaf and oblivious the FBI agents involved in Crossfire Hurricane were. In the final application, the FBI "notes that Pages continues to be active in meeting with media outlets . . . to refute claims of his involvement with Russian Government efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. Presidential election."

"This approach is important," the FBI posits, "because, from the Russian Government's point-of-view, it continues to keep the controversy of the election in front of the American and world media, which has the effect of undermining the integrity of the U.S. electoral process and weakening the effectiveness of the current U.S. Administration" (emphasis added).

As the kids would say, "I can't even."
From Cleveland's article. Carter Page is being slimed in the press courtesy of FBI leaks, he tries to defend himself in the press and that is somehow evidence of his continuing efforts with Russia to maintain the controversy of the 2016 election?

How whacked is that?

Quote:

Rep. Adam Schiff spent months launching secret impeachment hearings, never thinking his conduct would be called into question.

He is now caught in the crosshairs of a formidable government agent, Mr. Brendan Carr, Federal Communication Commissioner. The impeachment may be over, but Mr. Carr is formally investigating Rep. Schiff for violating privacy laws -- more like obliterating ethical boundaries -- by setting up his own surveillance state to target the president's allies.

Carr is currently uncovering the diabolical nature of the congressman's "surveillance state." At the time, Schiff resorted to such desperate measures because he didn't have much of an impeachment case: Therefore, he issued secret subpoenas to phone carriers hoping to mine the private data of his political opponents, or in effect ransacking their private lives.

The objective was to obtain and publish the calls of Trump's allies.

Much to his delight, Schiff's subpoenas to the phone carriers resulted in their turning over nearly 4,000 pages of confidential records, in the process violating their customers' rights to data privacy.

Quote:

None of this has escaped the notice of the top gun at the FCC. Carr is proposing a $200 million fine against the phone carriers for failing to protect their customers who have a legitimate expectation of privacy.

The FCC commissioner, in reviewing the nearly 4,000 pages, had a very pointed question to ask as part of his investigative letter to the House Intelligence Committee (where Schiff serves as chairman). "Is Rep. Schiff continuing to issue secret subpoenas?" That translates to mean: Does the congressman plan to continue to run roughshod over the private lives of political opponents while employing abusive impeachment tactics?
Quote:

As part of the FCC investigation, Carr dropped a major bombshell, which most likely won't make the news cycle on CNN or other leftist outlets. Carr lambasted Schiff for "exceeding his authority" by publishing call records that lack "any apparent nexus to the Committee's legitimate work."

C'mon, the FCC isn't gonna do anything to Schiff. It would be nice to put major companies on notice that anything he puts on his "subpoena" letterhead doesn't give them waivers to disclose stuff though.

It's as farcical as if I typed up "by order of the supreme court of the United States" on a demand letter and sent it out to someone I wanted to produce documents from.

Just put FISA court judge at the top. It's gotten to the point where the Left uses the courts for everything, so give it a shot. Don't forget to let us know how it works out!

I didn't say the FCC was going to do it. But a finding by the FCC that the phone companies broke the rules to the point where a fine, 200 million dollar fine, is warranted, is good evidence for personal lawsuits by those affected against Schiff for civil rights violations. Or sue the phone companies, notice Schiff for a deposition.

OK, but they will probably take 90-180 days to decide, and then have an administrative appeal process the companies can go through. My guess is the 200 million is a theoretical max and it's likely to be closer to 3 figures, but the finding itself (especially if it pointed out how absurd these "subpoenas" are) would be nice (but isn't this just a civil matter?)

Adam Schiff is not an article 3 court unto himself, and cannot be entrusted with judicial authority. Still, I think this is mostly a nothing-burger, likely. Just more theater.

Here's the threadreader from the above tweet thread:

https://threader.app/thread/1251122879179173890

There is a major revelation in this thread via the newly released, unredacted portions of Page's FISA application:

Quote:

Not true: Schiff knew he was lying at time, in Jan 2018.

Section II, p.10 of the FISA was partially redacted in the original release in July 2018. But Schiff knew what was under these black lines - he had full access at the time he wrote his memo. Okay, what do they say?

Quote:

The latest declassification reveals *for the first time publicly* that Section II, p.10 said that:

"[Carter] Page...has been identified by source reporting as an intermediary with Russian leadership" in "a well-developed conspiracy of co-operation" to influence the 2016 election

Quote:

A "well-developed conspiracy of co-operation" with Page and "Russian leadership" is **literally cut and pasted from the Steele dossier**

And specifically, the source is "Source E", referred to as "Person 1" by the IG report (referring to Sergei Millian).

Quote:

That's a major problem for FBI/DOJ:

--FBI/DOJ submitted this FISA, which relies on Person 1 as a key source, on Oct 21 2016

--The FBI had opened a counterintelligence case on Person 1 for their alleged links to Russian intel *before* the FISA, likely between Oct 3-12 2016.
You read that right.

The FBI claimed a Collusion "conspiracy" between the Trump campaign and Russia in a secret FISA warrant application relying on a source they were supposedly investigating for having links to Russian intelligence.

Which they didn't disclose to the court.

This is f***ing unbelievable!!! It's not just the issue that the Steele Dossier was made-up, unverified crap...but the most significant element in the application allegedly originated from an individual who, himself, was under a counterintelligence investigation for having links to Russian intelligence.

The newly released, unredacted portions of Page's FISA application can be found here:

I understand everyone in DC wanting to obfuscate, and delay this entire cluster***k, but can't these people (I'm speaking about Wray specifically) be charged with obstruction of justice. To me, these acts by Wray are THE meaning of obstruction. Frickin' Wray acts like he was involved, which I don't think he was, but I do believe he knew what was going on.

Maybe its just public revelations, and Barr and Durham have already seen everything, but it sure seems like Wray should share a cell with Comey, Yates, etc.

And...Schiff is still sleaze. Been sitting on declassified russiagate testimony of McCabe etc. for around a year likely, refuses to share publicly or with White House.

Quote:

In late September 2018 with a mid-year election approaching, the often bitterly divided House Intelligence Committee forged a rare bipartisan moment: Its Republican and Democratic members voted to make public the transcripts of 53 witnesses in the Russia collusion investigation.

But what was hailed as an act of transparency has not been fulfilled 19 months later, even though U.S intelligence has declassified and cleared the transcripts for release.

The answer why lies in the backroom dealings of Adam Schiff, the committee's top Democrat and its current chairman, according to interviews and memos obtained by Just the News.

Shortly after Schiff took over from Republican Rep. Devin Nunes as chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) in 2019, he sent a letter to the office of then-Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

The letter obtained by Just the News specifically ordered that the witness transcripts some of which contained exculpatory evidence for President Trump's team not be shared with Trump or White House lawyers even if the declassification process required such sharing.

"Under no circumstances shall ODNI, or any other element of the Intelligence Community (IC), share any HPSCI transcripts with the White House, President Trump or any persons associated with the White House or the President," Schiff wrote in a March 26, 2019 letter to then-Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.
"Such transcripts remain the sole property of HPSCI, and were transmitted to ODNI for the limited purpose of enabling a classification review by IC elements and the Department of Justice," Schiff added.
