It's something to consider, but the media and the government are doing very well in that role, so we all have pretty much seen the contrary evidence that is publicly available as well, and near endless analysis of it from the leftist perspective.
You and jjMt are waaaay too reasonable and fair. If I have confirmation bias, and I'm sure I have a some, I will make efforts to review my thoughts, knowing that Republicans have done plenty of crappy things in the name of the party, or in their case, the country.
It seems like we've rectified a lot of issues in the last twenty years, not that we're gaffe free,, or corruption free. My point is that the Right has MORE than paid for their sins/crimes. It's also not worth it, because since 80% of the press sits like a gargoyle on a 1920's building. However, the Left rarely pays for their misdeeds and corruption. Hell, most of the country doesn't even know who Kermit Gosnell was!! Newsweek reported today that Trump stole pancakes when he was younger, although that may be an impeachable offense in my house.
In order to not have my ass handed to me, I read books and articles from both side in my 20's. The Right always seemed to have the best idea to help the country, not themselves. However, I'd be lying if I said I've not thought of us being wrong, or even a LITTLE wrong. The long term behavior of the Left just doesn't support the confirmation bias topic, and the Left would NVER consider the topic, they just want to kill you----kinda!
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.
