I want to believe this, but tons of circumstansial evidence against Rosenstein suggest a different hypothesis, especially considering who his wife is. I also want to believe she and her husband NEVER talked about the players involved in his case, or that she didn't ever reveal her attorney client privilege to her husband. I just have a hard time believing all of that, considering the time frame.

Barsoomian may not be corrupt, as in Stzok's wife, but I'd be surprised if she's lilly white, and the consumate professional when it comes to her husband.

I don't buy the theory that Rosenstein was playing white hat puppetmaster over a senile Mueller. Dragging out the investigation for two years and effectively creating the fulcrum on which control of the House of Representatives changed hands does not comport with the idea that he was working against the deep state. A white hat would have worked to ensure that the "no collusion" determination was made public before the midterms so that the swing districts were not swinging left because they believed the DNC narrative.

Rosenstein was a weak Mamby Pamby bureaucrat that took the course of least resistance in all his decisions only for his self interest. He was the direct opposite of " Profiles In Courage "

Well, if that had occurred, I can't imagine Weissmann & the rest of the cohort not running to the Dems & MSM...with the result that the heavens would have been screaming "whitewash". Then the GOP might have lost the Senate too, which would then have been a major disaster.

In retrospect...so far...losing the House hasn't slowed down Trump one bit. He's winning major league, & with the Senate he has been able re-mold the Judicial System. Plus the Dems are self destructing in full view of the public.

Plus understand, I have been quite vocal about Rosenstein & Mueller being black hats. My only concern is: "Have we been misled?" There is so much we don't know about SpyGate.

Maria's interview with Carter Page today. (5:48 minutes long)

Interesting that Carter Page never actually testified in the Buryakov case. He gave lots of info to the US attorneys, but when he met with them in the Spring of 2016 about the upcoming trial, they wanted him to lie in court & he refused, so he did not appear during the trial. Hmmm...

Side note: Page said he worked closely with Chris Stephens (Benghazi) in 1998-99.

I don't understand your industry. It seems like Emperor Augustus was running things when McCabe got fired at the FBI. "Wheels of justice turn slowly" needs to be reviewed, or changed to a "snails pace", or something.

Glory be!

Yeah he has always been a bit goofy. The fascinating thing to me is that with all of the FISA stuff aimed at him... He was never indicted. If they had any dirt on him you can bet your bottom dollar he would have been a pelt on the wall of the Mueller probe.

So either:
1) He is a straight shooter and pretty dang clean
2) A goof ball that maybe spoke with some folks that raised suspicions and therefore gave the Feds an excuse to wiretap him and it turned out that there was "no there there"...Mainly because they were probably FISAing him for the two jump capability it afforded as they probably knew he was clean all along.
3) ??

I am puzzled as well.

Don't doubt it, just believe it when I see it.

I Like Joe, just want him to be a little more accountable in what he says.

And Page has ALWAYS been a riddle. I don't believe he ever lawyered up. To my knowledge, he finished pretty high in his class at Annapolis, but he has a "I don't know, they just ask me to work here" kind of demeanor.

I still wish he'd lawyer up and suit.

I'm definitely with you on Joe. I think he told Comey to "lawyer up" like 4 months ago and an indictment was imminent.

I just wish we could get ONE indictment...Mueller was giving them out to freaking ghost Russian hackers, can the good guys just get one.

The DOJ is considering whether or not to appeal the judge's ruling.
What could be so damning in those Archey Declarations? It doesn't make sense; the ruling is not the Comey Memos but about a brief explaining why parts of the Comey Memos must remain classified. How could this be a national security issue that would harm the US. Hmmm... What could this be? It must have foreign implications. Could it relate to the Steele Dossier or foreign intelligence activities? Any other guesses?

IMHO, Carter Page only appears dim witted. I suspect he may be one of the brightest bulbs in the room and successfully pretends to appear low watt among his accusers. Powerful play IF you can carry it off.

I was always told that the wheels of justice turn exceedingly slow...

But they grind exceedingly fine...

On another note...could all of this be a move by DOJ to control when and how much info / evidence is released, in order to minimize the crescendo of trampling feet for #fly_name here_fly seeking shelter in a country that has no extradition treaty with the US?

No. It has to be due involvement by foreign intelligence and having diplomatic consequences if publicly revealed.

My hope was that once May was out as PM, that Boris wouldn't shy away from giving her a swift kick in the rear on her way out of the door and reveal her involvement.

But if anyone recalls, Comey testified that he carefully crafted his memos to avoid including classified information. That was obviously a lie since even a synopsis of his memos can't be revealed.

But I really wish Barr would address this issue.

An update from the Dan Bongino podcast last Friday regarding Byrne. Bongino references a Twitter account post with documentation from Butina's lawyers, where the government denied they had Brady material regarding informants (i.e. Byrne) to investigate Butina.

So either Byrne or the government is lying. Bongino, and his sources think Byrne is credible.

The Byrne part starts about the 17:00 mark.

Again, if the video stops, just "Reload", it will pick up where it stopped.

Why is that shocking? Because as best as I can tell, the facts available on the public record simply don't support such charges. The only visible factor militating in favor of the Justice Department charging McCabe, in fact, is that the department has been on the receiving end of a sustained campaign by President Trump demanding McCabe's scalp......

Benjamin Wittes at Lawfare has written a treatise elucidating that there is insufficient evidence to support criminal charges against McCabe.

.....The source of the logjam: the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which Trump is in the process of shaking up after the resignations last month of its director, Dan Coats, and principal deputy, Sue Gordon. "Establishment" officials in that agency are still dragging their feet, say the sources, who spoke on condition that they not be further identified.

Sources who have seen the documents generally described their contents to RealClearInvestigations. They said the material still under wraps includes:

  • Evidence that President Obama's CIA, FBI, and Justice Department illegally eavesdropped on the Trump campaign -- cases separate from the FBI's disputed FISA court-approved surveillance of Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
  • An August 2016 briefing CIA Director John Brennan hand-delivered in a sealed envelope to Obama, containing information from what Brennan claimed was "a critical informant close to Putin." The informant is believed to have actually been a Russian source recycled from the largely debunked dossier compiled by ex-British agent Christopher Steele for the Hillary Clinton campaign.
  • An email exchange from December 2016 between Brennan and FBI Director James Comey, in which Brennan is said to have argued for using the dossier in early drafts of the task force's much-hyped January 2017 intelligence assessment. That spread the narrative that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the alleged Clinton campaign hacking to steal the election for Trump.
  • Copies of all FBI, CIA and State Department records related to Joseph Mifsud, the mysterious Maltese professor whose statements regarding Papadopoulos allegedly triggered the original Russia-collusion probe.
  • Transcripts of 53 closed-door interviews of FBI and Justice Department officials and other witnesses conducted by the House Intelligence Committee. The files were sent to the agency last November......

Quote:

The Justice Department inspector general is preparing to release a report on the conduct of fired FBI Director James Comey in the Trump-Russia investigation, according to a number of sources with knowledge of the situation. The specific timing of the report's release is not clear.

The Comey report is separate from a larger inspector general report on the Justice Department's handling of the Trump-Russia probe. That report, sometimes referred to by Republicans as an investigation into "FISA abuse," is expected to be released later.

It is not clear why the inspector general, Michael Horowitz, chose to write a separate report on Comey......

Sources say the Comey report will deal just with Comey's memos and not his broader role in the Trump-Russia investigation. As for Horowitz's main report, it is still unclear precisely what it will cover and when it will be made public.
That's disappointing but not fatal as to whether or not Comey ever faces actual criminal charges. He did sign the Carter Page FISA apps so he mislead the FISC.

The memos are mishandling of government records, theft of government records and mishandling of classified information since he took them to his home and then disseminated them. So, it seems DiGenova was right about something at least.

As to McCabe, I find it ironic that Horowitz was looking into the leaks and that Lisa Page's testimony did not jive with McCabe's. Horowitz asked her if she had any proof and that's when her text messages were accessed, revealing her texts with Strzok as well. And if McCabe really had authority to bless those leaks, why lie about it when asked?

Comey seems to be in bigger legal jeopardy than McCabe, in my view. So McCabe has some leverage here for a plea deal.
