Astute analysis. This was the plan. Good thread.
I think Trump firing Sessions completely caught them off guard. The plotters loved the idea that Sessions was recused & never considered that he would be fired. As long as Mueller was investigating & Sessions was recused, Mueller had priority & no one could move forward on any other investigations, including the FISA abuse investigation. But if they moved with no AG in place & Mueller filed his report, that would have smelled badly because of the many public calls for Rosenstein to have recused himself from the Mueller investigation.aggiehawg said:
Well, if that was the plan, Mueller should have wrapped up his investigation the moment Sessions was fired before Barr was confirmed. He could have even issued an interim report without wrapping up his full investigation.

True, but that does require buying into the idea that Mueller, personally, was a crony stooge. Perhaps, in the end, he was unwilling to fabricate evidence and at least conducted the investigation with at least some degree of legitimacy once handed it? In other words, maybe those that said Mueller personally was at least an `okay' choice proved to be right? Barr made it sound like he didn't have to do much second guessing the actual recommendations? Maybe there was something in his words didn't catch. You are the legal eagle!aggiehawg said:

Just reading the Table of Contents, I rolled my eyes at the sheer lunacy of this entire investigation. Really reaching to connect disparate dots to cobble together some narrative of concerted action. And there's no there, there.titan said:True, but that does require buying into the idea that Mueller, personally, was a crony stooge. No question of that. It was obvious almost from Hillary talking about "accepting election results" in October 2016.aggiehawg said:Just reading the Table of Contents, I rolled my eyes at the sheer lunacy of this entire investigation. Complete hooey, in my view.
Ask her to list the achievements of the far Left. Make it about what the Democrats are offering instead???Cy_Tolliver said:
i kid you not - this past weekend i experienced TDS in full force and it was shocking because it was someone i've known my entire life.
We were out having a few beers and reminiscing. She brought up Trump and how evil he was. i very calmly asked 'why' he was evil and she got angry. Then she said he's a racist and i said 'but why? specifically what has he ever done that was racist?'
i kid you not, she literally reached across the table and grabbed me by the shirt. It was both bizarre and highly disturbing.
She later apologized, but damn.
I don't have many discussions with leftists about Trump. But, simply asking questions is the easiest way to show how insane they are. They are NPC dronesCy_Tolliver said:

Just like Mueller's very flowery speaking indictments and informations. All hype, little to no beef. Have to give Team Mueller an "A" for effort, though. They really, really, really wanted to make a case against Trump and they tried and tried but couldn't do it.MouthBQ98 said:
Yesterday I was listening to a commentator that seemed to have an inside track on it and he said it would read like many many pages of hyperbolic narrative, then back down to what amounts to a handful of pages with any legitimate reasoned legal content subtly inserted at the end of each section.
That's the thing. She deflects that by saying she's an independent and she doesn't like hillary either. She said she liked Beto but can't point to why other than 'he's hot'titan said:Ask her to list the achievements of the far Left. There is a disturbingly large swatch of otherwise normal/educated people in this country who have grown up trusting the network and print media and haven't realized the paradigm shift that has taken place over the last 20+ years.GCP12 said:I don't have many discussions with leftists about Trump. Agreed. And the Democrat agenda is so destructive to anyone productive and not insulated by being rich, that there is a good chance that 2020 may be okay. Frankly its Trump's successor and 2024 that worries me more right now. If you make a comparison to 1984 and Reagan, the more in doubt matter was 1988 and whether those shoes could be filled.Prosperdick said:There is a disturbingly large swatch of otherwise normal/educated people in this country who have grown up trusting the network and print media and haven't realized the paradigm shift that has taken place over the last 20+ years.GCP12 said:I don't have many discussions with leftists about Trump. They firmly believe that by watching/reading the "neutral" press they can form their own opinions and act/think accordingly.
I don't need to expound further on why that's created the situations like the one above. I just pray there are enough folks who have been "red pilled" to keep the far left out of the oval office and at least the Senate in 2020.

That's alarming. Thats like the dilemma have pointed out that if you are ONLY `college educated' and anything since only gotten from the news, then you may fit Reagan's phrase of "know so much that isn't true".Cy_Tolliver said:agreed. Sounds like my younger sister. She believes anything in the media (except Fox News because "they support that evil man who wants me dead") because in her words, "they can't/won't publish anything which isn't true".Quote:

After nearly three years of watching this fiasco, Mueller is very thorough but he went into this investigation with a confirmation bias that originated from his bestie Comey. Simply put, he placed too much trust in Comey's judgment. Nor did Mueller initially recognize that the Comey memos came from Comey's own animus towards Trump.Quote:
But what about Mueller the man --- does his presenting a non fabrication speak any to his nature? Was this more Sessions Boehner-like failure at his job than Mueller's?
And this experience truly defines "NPC". They CANNOT answer the "why' questions. And to try to do so shorts out their programming and causes what happened here.GCP12 said:I don't have many discussions with leftists about Trump.
