He's only looking at a ten year maximum sentence in Judge Jackson's case. If she really wants to stick it to him, she can make him serve it consecutively instead of concurrently.

You think? Berman-Jackson isn't an evenhanded judge, IMO. She put him in solitary before any trial. That's not the way a non-partisan judge acts. Judge Ellis was suspicious of Team Mueller's charges from the get go.

Berman Jackson treated him like a serial killer or John Gotti, in my view.

I know you and I disagree about Berman Jackson's actions, as lawyers tend to do in an adversarial system. (A fact that some lawyers and pseudo-lawyers on this board, refuse to recognize because they are basically dumb but we've been honest with each other about our disagreements and the reasons that underlie our respective positions.)

My prediction is she gives him the full 10 and it is consecutive. If I'm wrong, I'll eat some crow here.

NYTs caught peddling 'Fake News'.

Judge Ellis' case had nothing to do with contact with the Russians. That is Judge Jackson's case. So while it is technically true, it's intellectual dishonesty.

At the end of the day, I think the fact that Judge Ellis thought that the reason that Manafort was in his courtroom was bs, but realized his hands were tied with the case brought to him. He also gave Manafort a lot of breaks during his trial. This may have been his way of getting even with them, but still giving Manafort a sentence consistent with other similar cases.
