Back to the topic of the drip-drip-drip release of Strzok-Page text messages .... this article from June 18, 2018 provides another explanation:benchmark said:I prefer the most logical explanation ... GJ evidence firewalled from Horowitz and Congress .... and indictments may be coming out soon.aggiehawg said:
Best case scenario is that they are wrapping up grand jury indictments. Worst case scenario is that they are covering it up because the American people can't handle the truth in their small minds. And small minds they have.

Horowitz said that while the initial process of obtaining Strzok-Page messages from the FBI was "easy," recovering the "We'll stop it" text proved "challenging." He also said that the painstaking process used to recover the message and others raises concerns about the FBI's text message retention system.
Horowitz said that the OIG's cyber forensic team obtained Strzok and Page's FBI phones in order to extract any missing text messages. The team then relied on an outside contractor that the agency frequently uses in order to see whether there were other forensic tools that could extract messages from the phones.
"They provided us with some additional tools, so we did a second extraction and gained more text messages," Horowitz testified.
The third step was an outreach to the Department of Defense to see if Pentagon experts had any other tools that could be used for the investigation.
"They gave us those tools and we used that and we extracted more text messages," said Horowitz.
The Aug. 8, 2016 Strzok text was discovered during a routine quality control check that the OIG conducted in early May, Horowitz said.
OIG's forensic examiners discovered "that the phone had a database on it that was actually also doing a collection of text messages," said Horowitz.
"They extracted those messages from the phone and found the second part of the August 8 text, 'No, no, We'll stop it.'"
"It turned out that the FBI wasn't aware that that database on there, which was supposed to be an operating function, was actually collecting data," explained Horowitz, who plans to release a report on the OIG's text message recovery process.
What Horowitz did not explain and was not asked was why Strzok's portion of the Aug. 8, 2016 message was so difficult to find.
Horowitz said that the FBI's failure to discover the text messages raises concerns about whether the bureau was able to collect all of its agents' and officials' text messages.
"We are not convinced that the FBI was collecting 100 percent of the text messages," he said.

So lets walk this out while overlaying aspects we have already identified.
How likely is it that the 3rd FISA renewal signed by Rod Rosenstein (June 29th, 2017), the subject of the current request, was based -in part- on media reports?
Highly likely? I would say, yes.
So again, walking this out.
Remember the March 17th, 2017, FISC copy that was given to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), and leaked by the Senate Security Director James Wolfe to his concubine/journalist Ali Watkins?
How likely is it that the Buzzfeed, WaPo and New York Times articles, that used the leaked FISA application in their reporting, were included as part of the renewal request?
Likely? I would say, yes.
If so, think about what has almost certainly happened.
The FISA Court released a copy of the Carter Page FISA application to the SSCI. The SSCI then leaked the FISA Application to the media. The media then reported on Carter Page as part of the vast Russian Conspiracy (the insurance policy) based on the SSCI leak. The FBI and DOJ then used the 2017 media reporting from the SSCI leak to request the June 2017 FISA renewal.
Keep in mind, all of this happened under the current FBI and DOJ leadership.
Can you see the corruption problem for the DOJ and FBI?
Now, keep walking this out. How likely is it that James Wolfe leaked that FISA application at the request of Senators on the SSCI? Remember his defense? So what this looks like is an intentional effort within the SSCI (See Mark Warner, Adam Waldman, et al) to create a process to ensure the FISA surveillance warrant was extended in 2017. This renewal was critical; it was part of the insurance policy being executed. Remember Adam Waldman, the guy text messaging with Mark Warner, lying to Chuck Grassley to avoid giving testimony to congress?Quote:
Attorneys for James A. Wolfe sent letters to all 15 senators on the committee, notifying them that their testimony may be sought as part of Mr. Wolfe's defense, according to two people familiar with the matter. (link)
See the big picture?
See the scale of corruption?
Corruption this deep explains why James Wolfe was not charged with the leaking of highly classified intelligence, and only given the much lesser charge of lying to the FBI about the leaking. Also, remember throughout the 2016 election Senator Dianne Feinstein was a Gang-of-Eight member and Vice-Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Now do you remember the $50 million raised by former Dianne Feinstein SSCI Senior Staffer Daniel Jones to continue funding Fusion GPS *after* the 2016 election?
Against this big picture backdrop doesn't that money seem like it would be available for hush-money payments to the complicit media apparatus for services rendered?
Remember, Daniel Jones is closely connected to leaks given to the New York Times. The fate of the media and the corrupt officials within the FBI and DOJ are attached. How likely is it that Ali Watkins direct or indirect reporting is part of the FISA renewal?
Now, do the hit jobs by the New York Times make sense? Anonymous Op-eds? Articles and discussions about needing to invoke the 25th Amendment?
Corrupt politicians, corrupt media, corrupt FBI and DOJ officials past and present; all of them have a vested interest in opposition to any declassification sunlight....

Have Wray or Rosy made any statement regarding declassification? I can't remember hearing much from either of them anytime recently.

Like she said, Trump's own DOJ going to the FISC to obtain authority to spy on him via the 2 hop method using the completely unverified dossier and planted news media stories, totally against the Woods Procedures. Rosenstein should be toast...for a number of reasons.redline248 said:
Wait...So she is saying someone lied to or deceived Trump to certify these wire taps? Am I interrupting that correctly?
Remember the almost nothing-burger Nunez memo? Prior to the memo's release, both Wray and Rosensten made a direct appeal to John Kelly to not release the memo. Wray; " ... we have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo's accuracy." The DOJ said it would be "extraordinarily reckless" to release the memo without the FBI's review.drcrinum said:
Lawyers from the White House Counsel's Office are the ones performing the declassification process, not members of the DOJ/FBI. That pretty much tells you that Rosenstein & Wray oppose the declassification. The latter are the ones who have stonewalled Congress over releasing many documents in the past.
So would you estimate that Trump is timing the declassification of all of this stuff (and unsealing of some high-level indictments) to coldcock the Democrats on the eve of midterms?drcrinum said:

It is hard for those of us on the outside looking in to understand what is actually going on inside those federal buildings. Why the Strzok/Page texts were so jarring to me. Sure, office politics is still the same as it is in the private sector with personalities clashing but the lack of any type of ethics as a curb to agenda-driven zealotry is just frightening.MouthBQ98 said:
Part of me wonders if some establishment republicans do not want these means and methods of subtly interfering with an administration in the future in hopes they will one day be able to exploit the same means? Many sure seem mostly apathetic about it considering the implications. Business as usual is fine as long as all the politicians and top bureaucrats are able to cash in, right?

Been going on for many years I suspect. Spying on people via the FISC...and then likely blackmailing them. Overtones of a police state.

I'm all for releasing the unredacted documents and catching as many people in the dragnet as possible from both sides of the fence. Anyone caught up in this should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and serve as much jail time/pay the highest fines possible.
The drawback to this plan is that the MSM and Democrats will have another "literally Hitler" moment because Trump will be locking up "political prisoners." No matter that they have broken the law and deserve jail time. That is the way it will be spun.
I say get to it and let's move this thing along.
That's why the involvement of the military has been suggested, right?FriscoKid said:
It's pretty amazing what's going on with this FISA application release. Trump can't use anyone outside of the WH for help. The AG, DOJ, and FBI would normally help with redactions but they are implicated is all of this so WH lawyers are helping.
Trump is on an island by himself in this swamp of corruption.
This is pretty much the whole story in a nutshell.AgInTheColony said:
