Pretty sure that people are looking past the fact that Goodlatte and Gowdy have already interviewed Bill Priestap for hours multiple times in both open and closed sessions. I'd say they were well aware of what he has to say. Perhaps they get tired of the redundancy and both chair their own committees and have open access to a lot of material.
I think that testimony yesterday was more for the benefit of Priestap than anything else. He was at the center of a lot of questionable stuff. He is the assistant director of the FBI Counterintelligence Division. This is the very division that was weaponized against a sitting POTUS. Priestap has to be forthcoming and appearing to be 100% cooperative and
NOT "lacking any candor", as they like to calling lying your ass off these days. Priestap was asked a ton of questions yesterday that most of those doing the asking already knew the answers to. It was more of a chance for Priestap to be vividly candor and just further verify what they already know. I doubt there was any huge revelation yesterday. He probably is going to avoid prison for his efforts as well.
Don't forget, all these Committee Chair heads have seen Horowitz's reports. And the word it that report is white hot lava on the reputations and possibly criminal on the heads of the past DOJ brass and the FBI as well.
