It looks more and more like he's just there to protect the swamp. The powerful truly have their own justice system.

Well the unpaid employee with a security clearance characterization is phony as hell. I'd like them to find another person in the Federal government like that.

Yeah, does this mean Comey didn't leak but the other guy did? Is that what they are trying to do?

That guy was busy - lawyer, friend of Comey, personal lawyer to Comey, professor, friend of newspaper reporters and now special job at the FBI.

Sounds like they are trying to find a title that makes Comey's leak of classified info ok where he doesn't get indicted.
Ding! Ding! Ding!

Call me an intuitive, fortune teller... call me Jeanne Dixon or Edgar Casey but I'd wager Richman's "special status" occurred during 2016, under Comey's direction.

Does ot really change things for Comey though?

1. I highly doubt this guy was cleared to see the director's classified materials, just b/c you have clearance doesn't mean you are allowed to see anything.
2. Comey was a former employee at the time he shared the memos. Whether he had rights to them at all is a question, but there is no question that he had zero authority to share them with anyone.
Probably doesn't change much, I agree. If anything, it increases Richman's criminal culpability. But it is a sign that Comey knew what he was doing and was working around the rules.

If he was an unpaid employee with security clearance, I'd love to see the paperwork for the background checks.

Court should be interesting, I'd love to see that show, OJ style coverage, Isn't Trump's sister still a judge? Barnett could sell that for billions

Every damn day we find new "stuff" relating to this circus.
I'm at the point where I believe the FBI, DNC, Obama, and I'm sure quite a few others were all in on it together. It's so big, and runs so deep, there is no way anything will happen.

^^^ THIS ^^^

No way any major player will answer for any crimes. We may get Comey or McCabe or Lynch on some BS obstruction charge, but NOTHING will happen to any of the Obama or Hillary inner circle. I have ZERO faith in our judicial system. It's been weaponized.
This is where I am, too. I fear that all of these "bombs" that Q and others point to will end up being sabotaged/subverted by the MSM and the average schmoe will never hear of them. Certainly not in time, or with enough effect, to alter any upcoming elections or get anyone put in jail or even really disgraced in any way.

Although strangely enough, seeing Kanye West switching sides does give me slight hope...

I posted an article earlier in the thread comparing the results of Watergate to the results of Mueller's investigation under the same time frame. In short, Archibald Cox and Leon Jaworski not only obtained many times more scalps, they got big scalps all the way to the Attorney General, the President's closest advisors, Dean, Haldeman and Erlichman. Here's the LINK if you missed it.

Of course, back then the press was clamoring for convictions against the hated Nixon Administration, which was just after a historic drubbing of their Dem nominee, McGovern. So in effect, an election was undone.

Ponder that.

Well...that was back when people believed that the press was still the press, not just a bunch of shills for the Democrats. It's why the same tactic didn't work against Trump.

Nixon was never a sympathetic character and had always had a horrible relationship with the press. Oh and he was guilty as sin. But the press was largely Dem, even back then. Of course that didn't stop Walter Cronkite from sideswiping LBJ who he considered JFK's usurper.

Trump has been doing press for 40 years. And he's innocent of that of which they accuse him.

If there is one thing that Comey excels at, it is throwing people in front of the bus to try and save his own hide.

That I can think of, Priestrap, McCabe, and now his professor friend? I'll bet there is a long list of careers ruined by this POS.

And my thinking is that people STILL believe that the press is the press and nod shills for the Dems. Which circles me back to a question I had awhile ago, and that is how do we get that changed when only CNN, etc. are said to be credible while TCTH and truepundit and all those (and Q and Wictor, etc.) are deemed biased and not credible.

Multiple former FBI officials, along with a Congressional official, say that while there may have been internal squabbling over the FBI's investigation into the Clinton Foundation at the time, there was allegedlyanother "stand-down" order by McCabe regarding the opening of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of her private email for official government business.

McCabe's stand-down order regarding Clinton's private email use happened after The New York Times first reported Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules in March 2015 and before the official investigation was requested by the Justice Department toward the end of July 2015.
2015 is when his wife was running for office.

One of the other things about Trump that people never seemed to think through: this is a guy that has made a name for himself by having attention paid to him. And not even positive attention. Just attention. What do people expect to achieve by paying more attention to him?

Watergate made them (the press) "King" makers, in their minds. All downhill ever since!

IMHO...that perception of their perceived, new found power is the WORST thing to have occurred in modern history. At the very least...it ranks up there with the staged Tonkin Bay, i.e., Viet Nam incident.

Of course, I'm 'old Army' and probably view it from a long-past, vantage point.

I think it is clear that everyone is playing the Mid-terms election game. That Cohen raid was just enough time for them to leak stuff out about Trump for the next 6 months. Hopefully indicted former FBI brass will be a bigger story....Looks like a fun summer ahead!

It is most undoubtedly a bigger story but I remain skeptical of how much coverage (and associated spin) it will receive.

I'm less concerned about Trump than I am about rooting out the partisan activist cancer growing in the upper levels of the federal bureaucracy that are increasingly politicizing their departments and agencies and subverting the legitimate authority of elected officials. That is dangerous to our Republic, and it must be stopped. Whatever their intent may be, or however moral and righteous they have convinced themselves their cause is, our republic only works if we follow the prescribed and lawful means of carrying out activities and dealing with conflict and dissent.
