That was a really convoluted opinion. Torturous read, actually. Even my eyes crossed at parts.

Basically what I think happened is that the judge upheld the count about lying to a federal agency under a separate statute but found that certain communications that were voluntary could not be sustained under the FARA statute itself because that provision of the FARA statute is ambiguous, under statutory construction case law principles.

Ooof! I need a martini.

Strzok just wants to be able to deflect his impending arrest.

You'd have to explain to me slowly why Strzok has been back in the FBI building repeatedly, prior to filing his suit for reinstatement, if you want me to believe he is facing arrest shortly.

I remain convinced the FBI is a corrupt organization and should be abolished entirely. It's simply not respectable, period.

Quote:

Almost one year after he was fired from his top post at FBI, Peter Strzok is back in the building and the FBI's good graces.

"Strzok is in the (HQ) building all the time," one FBI insider revealed. "He is taking meetings or part of meetings."

What?

FBI sources confirm Strzok has been granted access to FBI facilities in Washington, D.C. and its headquarters building on numerous occasions since he was sacked in August 2018.
Strzok has also not been stripped of his security clearances, an FBI insider said.

"He (Strzok) is getting in with a visitor's badge and is involved in meetings," one FBI insider said. "Maybe they are all trying to get their story straight before things go public."
Such "things" include declassification of the FISA warrant the FBI used to spy on the campaign of Donald Trump. One of the warrants is scheduled to be declassified and released this summer, however FBI Director Christopher Wray is trying to delay its release, sources said.

At all costs.

While Americans were under the impression that Strzok was a disavowed FBI insider, that is not the case. Even top FBI officials are wondering how and why Strzok has been allowed to come back into FBI headquarters.

When Strzok was testifying before Congress, he stated his security clearance had been temporarily been restored in order for him to prepare his testimony.

I would take true pundit with a grain of salt until it is being reported elsewhere. If Strzok was in and out of the FBI, someone else would have seen him and said so.

My method of reading this thread is reading all the posts (had 14 this morning), then follow up with whatever articles are included.

In this case, I was doing great until I got to your post,, because I hadn't read that article yet. I seriously went red face over the Strzok information. I don't mind disliking one guy, and I can't stand Strzok, but his whole family is corrupt from start to finish. His dad did dirty work for Obama, got caught, then pardoned.

I've given Wray LOTS of rope, as I always do, but damn, he's got to go. Stzok is a frickin' cancer to ANY organization. He could ONLY work in government, because the private sector would fry his ass quickly.

I admire your optimism, I just think it's interesting to say the least, and have utterly no confidence in the organization. Also, there's probably a reason he didn't sue Mueller, regarding his "wrongful termination."

Wray actually approved the termination, and I have to believe they are planning how to come up after the IG reports and develop a cohesive media strategy.

Mueller didn't fire Strzok, he just removed him from his investigation. Nothing actionable there. Gowdy is wrong on that, although he makes a great rhetorical flourish by saying it.

And I'm not really as optimistic as I am pragmatic. Strzok is a little fish. He's not worth it to risk giving the FBI another black eye. That's why I'm skeptical he's back in anyone's good graces.

For purposes of this post, I'm assuming Durham/Horowitz are bringing the wood this fall/winter. First of all, that means someone, somewhere will need to impanel a grand jury, but secondly, how many current empolyees of the FBI/State/, etc., will be indicted? I'm ask because most of the heirarchy at the FBI is gone, in some form or fashion. There are still plenty of crooks and sabotuers in State, DOD, DOJ, and the FBI, who still draw paychecks from you and me. That means they either weren't caught, or were suspected, but never disciplined or fired.

To me, and going off my premise, all of the guys were after will get indicted. However, if Durham does a really good job,and people talk, then there will be a slew of "underlings" we've never heard of, who will be laying down dinero for legal services.

My guy is still defending the FBI even aver the Mueller testimony. He's "sick" that this is all "political". I'd imagine that Wray feels the same way. He just wants it to go away and isn't interested in bringing justice. Protecting the FBI is more important. It's going to take Barr and Durham prying it out of the FBI because the top brass has locked arms in defiance IMO.

I think that's one of the biggest dangers about entrenched bureaucrats. It becomes more important to protect the agency than doing the right thing. The ironic thing is that by "protecting" the agency, they're actually destroying it.
