Well worth watching the video.

We throw around the term hero a lot but in my mind these guys truly are.

Not knowing what they would confront and still going is amazing.

Strip shooter's brother in Las Vegas, cooperating with authorities

The brother of Strip mass murderer Stephen Paddock arrived in Las Vegas late Saturday and spent five hours in a second interview with investigators Sunday, Eric Paddock told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The Orlando, Florida, resident said he was met by FBI agents and other law enforcement officers as he got off his plane about 10:15 p.m. Saturday at McCarran International Airport. He was immediately taken to a room and interviewed for about four hours.

He said FBI agents, a Las Vegas police detective, a profiler and a psychologist participated in his Sunday interview.

Cell phone charger find...

It doesn't match any phone found in the room...

Also, his car left the hotel and then his room key was used...

Moderately interesting...
I've found cell phone charges in my hotel rooms before. The last person in the room forgot it and the maid overlooked it. Not really a sure thing that someone else was there.

They found devices corresponding to all chargers.

Earlier, senior law enforcement sources said investigators were puzzled by a charger that did not appear to match any of Paddock's cellphones. Police have now been able to match all of the cell phone chargers found in the room with multiple cell phones that Paddock had with him.

"He was the only shooter; I'm very confident of that," McMahill said. "I'm also confident that there were no other people in the room leading up to this event."

deposition from his 2011 lawsuit.

"Each time I push the button, it will range from $100 to $1,350," he said.
A lawyer asked how much he could end up betting on a given night.
"A million dollars," Paddock replied.
"That's a lot of money," the lawyer said.
"No, it's not," Paddock said.
Quote:

At the height of his play in 2006, he testified, "I averaged 14 hours a day, 365 days a year."
"I'll gamble all night," he said. "I sleep during the day."
Asked if he ever visited the hotel pool, Paddock replied, "I do not do sun."
Quote:

He said he was prescribed Valium "for anxiousness" by Nevada internist Steven P. Winkler. It was unclear how often he took the drug, but he estimated that he had 10 or 15 pills remaining in a bottle of 60 that were prescribed a year and a half earlier.

It sounds to me like the initial bursts were fired with the muzzle out of or very close to being out of the window. If he fired subsequent bursts while standing further back inside the room, the noise could easily be muffled. I don't find this strange at all.

Not sure what your background is. Backing up into the room is going to decrease his field of fire at an area target. It would also throw off his calculations (slightly) that he had made for his MOA at his fixed position. If he indeed backed up into the room, explain the muzzle flashes.

After some of the updates on this thread, I feel like it should be pointed out that this guy was a fairly experienced shooter. Those saying an experienced shooter would have made this worse and that bumpstocks played no part may want to revisit those comments...

If this had of been me, it would have been much worse. I would have booby trapped whatever I could have to delay the entry team. If I had that stockpile of weapons and ammo, I'm taking out everybody I can while saving the last bullet for myself.

Edit: This is to clean, doesn't make any sense.

I wonder what a guy could have done if he had built a larger and truly effective silencer. Like maybe the size of a 3 liter bottle of coke.

The only background I have that may be relevant here is in live audio mixing. I have no firearms experience, unfortunately. I'm merely pointing out that the shooter's position in the room relative to the open window would affect the intensity of the sound waves being picked up by the cabbie's cellphone. The analyst seems to have overlooked that, and I think that's a mistake.

That video acts like he was running back and forth between windows, but one window was aimed at the fuel tanks and another at the concert.

Did he alternate between shooting at the concert and at the fuel tanks? That seems inefficient

Now police are saying he shot the security guard a full 6 minutes before he started shooting at the concert.

It's just to clean. Thousands of rounds and multiple weapons, and he offs himself at the first sign of armed confrontation? Check that a security guard. I stand by my comment from way back in this thread that I heard 7. 62.

Why was the security guard there? Why is the timeline changing if he really went up there to check on an open door alarm

I think this video is leaning more toward multiple shooters. I doubt this guy who falls when wearing flip flops was running room to room.

I'm not sure what doesn't make sense about that given the facts we know for certain:
1) Stephen Paddock was dead on the floor
2) He was in the suite alone (unless you believe the officers who made entry are lying)
3) the police say they have no credible evidence of a second shooter. If there were one, you have to believe they wouldn't cover that up because of the obvious public safety concern

What's the alternative theory here?

A "klutzy" 64 years old running 40' from room to room in a suite that the cops said your could barely walk through without tripping over a gun of magazine or something else.
