He had plenty more back at his place and we have no idea if he had a storage shed somewhere.Burt Macklin, FBI said:This is the part I don't get. If he really was planning on making an escape, why would he have 23 guns in his room (unless he was planning on leaving all or most of them)? Seems like it would be much easier to make a getaway with 1 or 2 than with 23.CSTXAg92 said:My bad. I stand corrected. There were 23 guns in his hotel room. Still, no pictures of all those weapons. Why?Rapier108 said:Every report has said 21 or 23 (I think 23 is the latter figure) in the hotel room; the rest at his home, unless there is a new report that just came out.CSTXAg92 said:
I think there's a gun deal or sting gone wrong here. We've heard there were 47 guns in the room. Why have we only seen pics do 4, maybe 5 of those guns? Could it be that the rest were nicely packed in a case for convenient transport or display?
Also, doing something like this in a hotel room under your own actual name would kinda be like being in a hit and run and leaving your license plate behind. They're going to know who did it, and they will find you.

If he's just some psycho, that doesn't add up.agsalaska said:To answer the last sentence it lasts only nine minutes because he was probably dead.GCP12 said:It makes a whole lot more sense than a 65 year old real estate millionaire just deciding to shoot up a bunch of people for no reason. I don't know what happened, but if the result of this investigation is that he had no motive and he's just a psycho, I will know they're hiding something. The excessive amount of guns and him only shooting for 9-10 minutes makes zero sense to me.CSTXAg92 said:This is the type scenario I believe is closest to the truth.Whitetail said:
shooting only lasted a few mins. how would the front desk know about gun shots on the 32 floor?Ag In Ok said:
When did the staff at MB know something was going on? And why send a guy to a floor with the ruckus outside to check on an open door?

Can you describe the ruckus?

yes, but that has nothing to do with them knowing about any "ruckus" outside.tsuag10 said:TexasAggie_02 said:shooting only lasted a few mins. how would the front desk know about gun shots on the 32 floor?Ag In Ok said:

LVMPD said that MB security guard (Jesus, the Hero) was responding because there was "an alarm for a door ajar". Not sure if that was the stairwell door, or the door to Paddock's suite. That's just what was reported in the presser.

The younger brother of Stephen Paddock has a rap sheet of a hardened criminal ... light-years different from the brother who slaughtered dozens of innocent people.
Bruce Paddock currently lives in California, but he's led a nomadic life. TMZ has pulled court docs which show he's been a regular in the criminal justice system. Among his arrests ...
-- Criminal threats
-- Arson
-- Vandalism
-- Petty theft
-- Burglary
-- Weed
-- Driving on a suspended license
-- Contempt
It's unclear how many of these resulted in convictions. We know for sure the 57-year-old was convicted of petty theft with a prior, and vandalism. Don't confuse Bruce with Eric, the Paddock brother living in Florida, who's been speaking to the media.
BTW ... Paddock's father was a bank robber who was once on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List.
Quote:
Cruz told the Daily News and said in court papers that Paddock liked to get high and sold methamphetamine and marijuana. His behavior is "extremely erratic and unpredictable," Cruz claimed.
He also told The News that Bruce Paddock was filled with paranoia and installed hidden cameras in the house and work area, as well as in his car.
"He said he had stuff to make explosives," Cruz said. "He's just a crazy guy. He was getting money from his mother and leaching off the government. He was extremely intelligent, but he was just trash."
In a chilling coincidence, Stephen Paddock possessed explosives in his house and car. He also installed hidden cameras in the hallway and the hotel room he used as a sniper's nest Sunday in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
