How does one get 10 rifles and that much ammo (even cased/boxed/wrapped etc.) into and through a Casino Lobby?
Luggage. Three days. Not a big deal.BigHitterDaLama said:

I wondered about this too. How did he attract no attention getting that many guns of that size into his room? There's people watching every move made in VegasBigHitterDaLama said:

When I say training, I don't mean he went to an academy and learned nor even YouTube.
The training could be all in his mind, rehearsed may be a better word.
He had 10 guns
Maximum capacity magazines
Huge ammo cache.
Cameras Set up as recon
Corner elevated room with two perches
Shooting stands in the room
Stolen Identitiy
There stalking for days
Executed and had an escape plan.
That all requires some form of training/planning/rehearsing/ whatever you want to call it.
Do I need to list more details?
Yeah, I edited my post. Been to Vegas over a hundred times and seen lots of people with cases, etc. but that would be a lot of gear. Guessing he just made many many trips from the 28th onCanyonAg77 said:Luggage. Three days. Not a big deal.BigHitterDaLama said:

Not to mention that if they are like New York New York, you can just checkin online and get your keys at a kioskGarlandAg2012 said:
Bringing a large suitcase through a Vegas hotel lobby is ridiculously easy. The big hotels have hundreds if not thousands of people going in and out with luggage at all hours.

Yeah, he drives there. Unloads a ton of luggage at the door and the valet takes it up to his suite. Not suspicious at all for any hotel and certainly not Vegas.CanyonAg77 said:Luggage. Three days. Not a big deal.BigHitterDaLama said:

A fake bomb in the stair well and by the elevators could have easily bought him another thirty minutes.
I don't care how great a sniper you are, hitting a concealed target on the 32nd floor of a building from the ground is not going to be easy.
Bad move. Tip those guys enough where you don't attract attention, either positive nor negative.bobbranco said:

Would have to use cases big enough to conceal they were rifle cases......assembled rifles in room.AG 2000' said:
He could have brought it all in using big pelican cases that are used to transport convention displays, etc.
As for housekeeping, a do not disturb sign on the door.
you stick the "do not disturb" sign up. i do this regularly when traveling with camera gearakm91 said:GeorgePlimpton said:I wondered about this too. More importantly, how does he stay multiple nights and housekeeping not noticing?
Could probably do it all in 3, maybe 4 golf cases.BigHitterDaLama said:

Yeah, eventually you could do that--although IIRC they tried something like that with Whitman and he was able to hold them off by shooting at the aircraft, although it definitely limited his ability to target pedestrians on the ground.AG 2000' said:
I know at least some swat units in big cities are trained in firing from a chopper. I would assume they'd have that training in Vegas given the buildings on the strip.

It wasn't the hundreds of muzzle flashes that exploded from the shooter's rifles that gave away his position.
Nor was it the panicked 911 calls from people reporting the rhythmic thundering of gunfire.
It was the smoke.
As the gunman, identified as Stephen Paddock, fired round after round, gun smoke filled his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, said Randy Sutton, a retired lieutenant with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, citing police sources.
