I think Daddy needs a bit of a history lesson. Also, maybe some of you ID supporters should pick up a geology or genetics textbook.
Let me begin first by stating that I am a Christian, of the Roman Catholic type. I have been baptized, communed, and confirmed.
Daddy
By God I assume you also mean Jesus. I’m not quite sure how to tell you this but many of our founding fathers, including Jefferson, Adams, and Madison, didn’t exactly think too highly of Christianity. Jefferson even stated that he could not find a single “redeeming feature” about our “particular superstition.” So if you want to say our nation was founded with Christian values in mind, well maybe you should take a closer look at what the author of the Declaration of Independence said about Christianity, but don’t be surprised if you don’t like what you hear. I could spend all day on this, but I think I have made my point.
Calling Robertson a crackpot charlatan, or agreeing with evolution does allow Satan into our lives. We do. Satan has no power over me that I do not give willingly. Invoking Satan is either a scare tactic or and a sign of a lack of ability for one to take responsibility for one’s own actions.
Read your word? I say live it man. But if you have to read the word, then also find out who wrote it, when it was written, in what context, for what group, in what language. Point being, be faithful but don’t be stupid.
Ok let me get this straight, Jews didn’t accept Jesus as the Messiah so God allowed them to be systematically exterminated? I think I must call a huge wet pile of BS on that one. Oh and I do intend to defend my position. I’ll just give you the long version of your description of Jewish history so we all can see how ridiculous it sounds. Ok so Jews were protected before Jesus? Ok lets start there. The “Protected” Jews were enslaved in Egypt, killed and exiled in Babylon, and brutally occupied by Romans in Palestine. After “they turned their backs on” Jesus God now basically allows them to be, victimized, robbed, and exterminated. Oh if only they had repented then God would have allowed the Christians to step in and…, oh that’s right, Nazi’s tended to be Christian. And who eventually did stop this horrendous slaughter, that’s right it was the “Christian nations” of the U.S. and Britain. Oh wait a minute, nope it was the Atheist Russian Horde. And if you try to dispute this read any military book. The Russians did most of the work. In fact it was Russian soldiers that liberated Auschwitz. Again I will encourage you to pick up a history book and learn about how things actually happened.
Lastly to suggest that our God or Jesus who was willing to go through some of the worst sufferings a person could go through for US only to turn his back on us after the fact. Again I shall restate that Satan has no power over us that we do not give him. The reality is that bad, horrible, and even catastrophic things happen to even to the most Jesus like of us. We are judged by god after we die, or in the 2nd coming so that means some of may get judged more than once. The point being is that God does not delve out punishment or rewards for the things we do in this life while we are still here. Winning the Lottery, having a wonderful spouse, bearing good healthy children does not mean you are a good person. Conversely no matter how many Hurricanes hit your home, no matter how many times tragedy strikes from out of nowhere, know that it is not a punishment from God. Look at it for what it really is a challenge given to you by God to rise above the despair, preserver, and carry on with dignity and love in your heart.
Oh and one more thing. We kinda got our A$$es handed to us in the war of 1812. The British took fire to the White House. In fact our only major victory we had in the war took place after the war was technically over.
